View Full Version : flushing boot
just been flushing my boot, with my stepdad who use to do it pro about 12yrs ago.
now i have filled sanded ext till it is near flat. he use to use spray on stopper for the next stage but i dont have a spray gun comp etc, just wondering if there is a "new skool" way of doing it or do you still use spray on stopper then wet n dry etc?

I always assumed stopper was applied like filler, i.e with a spreader?
i was told it is called spray on stopper through a gun,

In the process of flushing my boot atm and my filler has sunk a little bit so gonna have to do it again let me know how you get on :thumb:
just put it on abit thick then mate. all my filler is done and smoothed with 60,
what was you thinking of doing after the filler was done then, just going straight for primer?

Was gonna use that filler primer:confused:
the problem with using just that and not spray on stopper is that flushing a boot is such a big repair filler wise, the primer will sink into the filler then over time the paint will sink aswell due to paint only being like a micron thick lol.
seen it on a few where it looks perfect for the first 3 months then when it has all sunk in just starts to look gash.
think i might just try walking into a body shop and giving someone a back hander lol
