how hard or easy is it to use an elecric polisher and what pads do you need to apply it and take it off

Electric polishers can be a good thing, but use it wrong, and you will burn through marking your paint work. Use a damp sponge type pad to apply the Farecla G3 Compound (available from bodyshop suppliers, maybe Halfords?). Then buff off with a different pad. Apply abit of wax and it should be looking a whole lot cleaner!

Although its not quite as easy as pete writes it lol

Takes a lot of practise and someone experienced to show you how to do it or you will mess up your paint tbh!

You can use/apply Farecla G3 or the finer G10 by hand but it takes a time but with a lot of patience you will see excellent results!

If its by a valeter/detailer then yes thats pretty good but just depends if theyre machining it or hand polishing but still pretty good either way:thumb:

I did a valet on my mates Saab 95 estate on sat, earned me £30 for door cards cleaning up (cream interior) hoovering, inside and outside glass, washed, leathered, polished, all trims blacked and wheels cleaned, tyres sheened!

lol, sorry. It is no easy task if you havent done it before (i have done it once with the assistance of one of the bodyshop guys and found it tricky to master!). You will need to be sure not to burn through, and get a good coverage with the compound. Keep the polisher moving so as to avoid burning.

If you have been qouted £30 then as long as you are happy with what you will get for that then go for it!

Make up a weak solution of car shampoo & water, spray this at the panel as you use the polisher. It will stop the pad/polish from drying & getting hot & marking /burning through the paint.

T-cut isnt what it used to be 20 years ago, so there are better products. As an easy recommendation, Meguiars 3 stage stuff is goo. Stage 1; paint renovator (like T-cut), Stage 2; polish, stage 3; carnauba wax.

With the right technique, you should get really good results with those products.
