since ive fitted the exhaust sytem, and the manifold from my SR, ive had nothing but problems. what i might do is put my original 1.2 exhaust system back on and just put a back box on. but the back box i have has a bigger bore than the original 1.2 exhaust i want to fit it to, i tried using clamps but it doesnt tighten up engough, and smaller clamps dont fit on the back box. is there something i can buy that fits inbetween the back box and exhaust pipe to make it fit? thanks

Yep, exhaust pipe diameter reducers.

Just go along to an exhaust specialist and get something fit up.

Should be able to get one off tinternet somewhere if ya fancy doing it yourself.

does it need to be welded on?

No, but has to be sealed properly with goop else it will blow.

What problems are you having with the exhaust?

well the sr manifold i put on doesnt have the lamba sensor, i took it into college and the said that you cant fit the sensor into this SR manifold because its cast iron and cant be drilled into. also, the exhaust i have rattles very loudly underneath the car because it doesnt match up with the path that the original exhaust took if you know what i mean. but it fitted fine on my SR. what kind of goop can i use lol

edit: also when the car is idling it doesnt idle right, sometimes its at 2000, sometimes its at 500. am i right in thinking thats the lambda sensor that i dont have and its not getting the fuel right

why not fit the sensor on the downpipe.

because then it will be picking up the wrong reading wont it? and theres still the problem of the rattling exhsaust...:(

Lambda sensor measures the gases in the exhaust and allows the ECU to adjust fueling. Doesn't really matter where it is on the exhaust, so long as its close enough to the front.

oh thats alright then.but is there anything i can do about the rattling? im going to try and take off the metal exhaust guard and see if that stops the rattling abit

no it wasnt the exhaust from my sr, its a stainless steel that i had put on my SR adn it fitted with no rattling. its a de-cat stainless steel one and it sounds really good, thats why i want it
