Should just be allowed to change your name imo, this is the only forum ive been on where you dont allow it......still my favourite forum though :thumb:

k reg nova, an example (albeit a poor one lol): a seller sells you some goods. You pay he scarpers with your money. A few months later comes back on here after changing his name. See what i'm getting at. I know on mig you can change your user name but they have a different trader system so it is easy to spot the scammers.

Yes but admin will, i'm guessing, be able to spot the scammers. If not it soon becomes evident who the scammers are.

No other forums I use allow name changes unless by admin. The one that did allow name changes soon revoked that policy as everyone was changing their names almost every day and it just became confusing.

I think personally if you were a paid up member and asked Lee really nicely then there maybe a chance but I personally agree with the rules and think its a good idea that people can't change their user name like there underwear. Not only for the trader side of things but also for people like me who are bad enough with names without people changing them every week

you can change your screen name as often as you like, but your actual user name remains the same

Ie my username is VR6Stu as at the time, i was after a VR6 etc etc

But my screen name is Stoop

If the name is already taken, theres a good chance they haven't been on for years and i can remove the profile. Lauren, for instance, hadn't been on since Novaload changed to VB lol
