If it was a Mk1 I could have forgiven you, as they are kinda retro, but Mk2's are just crap. 106 (which is probably worth about £150 in parts/scrap) + £150 for a ratty, 18 year old 1.6 derv 5dr golf which the tax is about to run out on... hmmmm

the mk1 was fannytastic, the mk2 was a sack of cack......

everything fell off it, & cost a fortune to replace

the hard cornering abilities are amazing (not), the front springs are sooooo soft that the nose dives & the rear inside wheel gets lifted about 4ft in the air....

we got so drunk to celebrate when she finally sold it that she chucked in the minicab

When you consider "average" mileage is 12k a year, that is technically low mileage.

Theres an origional Mk1 GTi sat in a School Shed about a mile from me. The Teacher used to drive it when I was there. He intended using it as a Car Maintance, he was going to fit a 20v engine to it with the students but got them a Sirocco to mess about with instead. So last i heard, the Golf and the 20v plant was for sale for €200. I was to buy it but the lad I had to do the work on it ****ed me about and that ended that.
