Power steering fluid is similar/the same as gearbox oil.

You say youve just have it reconed so standard internals?

Dexron 3 (or III) is ATF/gm manual gearbox/power steering fluid :D

im thinking it is mate, only give 40 for it with reicepts for overhaul ;)
i understand now i thought they wanted to pull one over on me lol my bad
so im right in saying that its also thinner than transmission oil?
would it make any diffrence to the gearbox?

difference as in?

thicker oil will make it a slag when cold... meaning you could wear it out faster.

if you feel flush then be my guest to put a thick ass expensive gearbox oil in.... its only going to cause cold wear, increse in transmission losses and generally stink.

infact, wny not put cooking oil in... :wall:

the oil is usually an 80 grade gear oil.
