Myself and a few people from work are going to take part in Movember, see the C&P of the Movember stuff below

Should any of you wish to join in the sheeeenanegans then dont hesitate to join up as an individual and once we have picked a team name blah blah I can invite you on in :) There should be some facebook pages for it too come monday morning.

I'm not going fully clean shaven as I havent had a clean shave since April 2005ish lol But that matters not

Hi All,
During Movember (the month formerly known as November) I'm growing a Mo. That's right I'm bringing the Mo back because I'm passionate about tackling men's health issues and being proactive in the fight against prostate cancer.
You can donate to my Mo by either:

Clicking this link https://www.movember.com/uk/donate (https://www.movember.com/uk/donate/donate-details.php?action=sponsorlink&rego=1382306&country=uk) and donating online using your credit card or PayPal account, or
Writing a cheque payable to ‘The Prostate Cancer Charity Re: Movember', referencing my Registration Number 1382306 and mailing it to:The Prostate Cancer Charity
First Floor Cambridge House
100 Cambridge Grove
Hammersmith
London W6 OLE
The money raised by Movember is used to raise awareness of men's health issues and donated to The Prostate Cancer Charity which will have an enormous impact on many men's lives and the awareness will help us to fight prostate cancer on every front - through research, support, information and campaigning.
Did you know...

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. 35,000 men are diagnosed every year and one man dies every hour.
1 in 11 UK men will be diagnosed in their lifetime .For those that have supported Movember in previous years you can be very proud of the impact it has had and can check out the details at:
[ Fundraising Outcomes ] (http://uk.movember.com/outcomes/content/Fundraising-Outcomes/).
Movember culminates at the end of month Gala Partés. If you would like to be part of this great night you'll need to purchase a [Gala Parté Ticket] (http://uk.movember.com/galatickets/index.php).
Thanks for your support,
Stuart

More information is available at http://www.movember.com/ (http://www.movember.com/).
Movember is proudly grown by Finlandia, Sure Men and Wilkinson Sword.
Movember is proud partners with The Prostate Cancer Charity.

My brother did this on a different site in September - http://www.tacheback.com/Tickletime

Some of you know I was diagnosed with cancer in June, not prostate cancer but I've met quite a few blokes with it during my treatment etc and it's quite worrying how common it is!

Lymphoma - it's type of cancer of the Lymphatics system, all is good though, don't worry! I've gotta have my 6th cycle of chemo on the 3rd Nov, then a pet scan. Providing that's ok I'm in the clear! :D

Stuart

doh Lymphoma is a fickle one... but a nice dose of chemo will sort it :) Any idea what chemo drugs they are giving you?

Breeny
27-10-08, 03:11 PM
Yeh it is normally, however I have Intestinal Lymphangiectasia too which complicates matters some what. The Prof thought I may have to stay on TPN for the rest of my life at one point, but luckily he has changed his mind now! :D

The chemo drugs are Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Vinblastine, Prednisolone and Rituximab.

They used Vincristine first but changed to Vinblastine as I had an adverse reaction.

Pred is great :D its a steroid for your lungs... I've had to go on it now and then when I'm too lazy to sort my asthma out properly.

You will be ratteling more than usual then:thumb:

Fook!
Sorry to hear about that mate. Something you never want to hear.
Hoping all goes well :thumb:

Quite scary how pretty much all the symptoms of it could be put down to much less serious illnesses.

I handle prednisolone everyday, didn't have any clue what it was for till now.

Cheers mate, I'm nearing the end of my treatment now - all is going as well as it can do :D

The problem with blokes is most don't bother going to docs... I was exactly the same. Unfortunately mine had spread by the time I eventually got off my ass and went. :tard:

pinch, punch first of the month :D

Right, this is as close to "clean shaven" as I have been since April 2005. Main face/neck trimmed with no guard on a beard trimmer, and then top/bottom lips done with an electric shaver.

Its my index finger lol

incidentally, maybe to help us stupid blokes who dont "do going to the Dr's", What were the symptoms that pushed you to see a Dr about your big C?

It's pretty easy to be honest, lumps, bumps and pain in places where you shouldn't have...

I didn't go because I sometimes get pain like this anyway, I ended up going as I passed out at work at my desk.

The doc found a large mass in my stomach, I was referred to hospital but it took 4 weeks to find out what it was as my internal organs are a bit of a mess anyway. (Had 1/2 my bowel removed when I was 6, they also found I had gall stones and they found Chron's disease also) Over the 4 weeks, the one lump turned into 9... so that's how rapid it was!

So like I say... any lumps, bumps or weird pain... go to ya GP!

OK so we need some shape to this furry faced mess.... So I go and buy a wet shave razor for the first time in 3 years (fook me how expensive are blades these days!!!!!), I got that wilkinson sword uber trimmer thing with the single blade and also beard trimmer on the end (specail offer for £3.99 with one blade lol)

I've still to lob my cash in that I was going to put in anyway, but managed to convince an annoying girl on another forum to PS a lairy tash onto herself and I'd donate lol.
