Right where do i start, ive had the nova bug for a good few years now, i ve had 3 in total, 2x1.2s and a really ropey GTE. aka Rotbox lol.

My first 1.2 was an abyss kitted version which i put many hours blood sweat and tears in to some may remember seeing a few pics of it,

poor pics but they are old.

Anyway my intentions were to do the valver conversion to this car, upon closer inspection it was rotten as a pear so i decided to strip and scrap it, it looked good on the outside but underneath was shot so of to the scrappy with that 1.

Pic the day i disposed of it,

I sold the kit and bits i didnt want, kept the other parts along with my redtop as set about looking for a minter. After about 20 mins of looking (lol), i came across a mint 2 owner k reg with 67,000 on the clock, £250 later and she was mine. happys days.

Couple of pics of the new car,

I then set about stripping and getting the new car ready for some work, but as im sure you will all agree, sometimes progress seems slow and you get bored and loose interest.

so 2 years on and interest is back, i have been collecting parts for the last couple of months, and am all but ready to set upon my engine conversion, having never done a full on conversion before im really looking forward to it.
Im lookng to have to car totally finished and road legal by pvs09, im sure its atchievable.

A few pics of how it stands today,

the only bit of rust is in the engine bay, where water has been leaking out of the header tank, never been welded anywhere.

Your name and location seems very familiar, as does that blue kitted up nova.I bought your alloys and gte bumpers, I think you had a gte engine stripped ready to be rebuilt.

Nice shell you've got there, looks ideal for a redtop.

nice 1, those strange shaped polybushes we were talking about are ones for the steering rack, they kinda wrap around then attatch to the body. polished the exhaust up and it looks mint:D .

thanks for all your comments, planning on getting it out of the garage 2morro and having a poke around, if i can find it under all the stuff thats been stacked on the roof.

Right folks, been busy in the garage and the postman has been working overtime dropping bits and bobs off, lol. not masses of progress but its the most work done in about 2 years so its better than nowt.

Items i have brought :-

fully polybush kit for the front, rears to come later.

new ball joints
new track rod ends
new disks and pads for my 2ltr brake setup
new wheel bearings
full set of solid alloy competition engine mounts
strut top plates

and a load of other bits required for the conversion

anyways we cracked on a got the old engine out, sat the shell up on some stands and stripped all the suspension and steering etc off ready for a bit of paint for when theyget refitted.

After lloking round the forum ive been trying to decide weather i should box section the chassis leg or just get the hammer out, i know this is a bit of a grey area as some people favor one over the other, anyways i decided to get the blow torch and the hammer out and have a go, let me know what you think, im well happy with the way its turned out, think when its painted itll look sweet.

I still have the car and am planning on getting busy with it in the next month.

It is currently burried under a ton of stuff im my parents garage. lol.

Since i did any work on it i have got married, moved into a new place, and me and the wifey have had a baby. as you can imagine this hasnt left much time/r anything else. Our current place has no garage or drive so getting to my parents to do any work on it has been a nightmare. it nearly all got sold about 8 months ago, but i cant bring myself to do it.

Anyway were on the move again in 2 weeks, the new place has a garage and a drive, so im a very happy boy. As soon as were settled in ill be moving the nova in and cracking on with work im so excited. its going to be like being reunited with an old friend lol. as soon as ill get some pics and carry on.

Ive been looking for some parts the last few weeks, want some mk 2 wings in white so i can bolt on and maybe some white pov doors aswell.

ill keep you posted. :thumb:
