View Full Version : Nova Diamond spec
Anyone know the specs? Iirc they are a special edition based on the GL (3-door) with a 1.2, 5 speed box, GTE alloys, available in Grey, black or silver.
Did they have a sunroof and e/w?
Is this correct? Any more info would be usefull. Model year 1989
Cheers
Pic of a black one would be nice. I'm looking at one as a second car.

Diamond
The Diamond was made in a couple of guises from 87/88 through to 90.
The earlier Diamond was most popular in Metallic Black, and was a slightly better equipped Merit model, with Velour interior and special decals. I'm not sure what else this earlier model had, so if anyone who knows, could e-mail me, I'd be grateful.
The Later Diamond was launched in 90, and was much better equipped than the previous model.
It now came with a choice of either metallic Grey or Blue paint, had the 14" 3-spoke alloys as standard, colour-coded mirror housings, tinted windows with Electric operation on the front, a slide & tilt sunroof, unique interior trim and an SR/GTE steering wheel.
This model was only available with the 1.2 Engine and came with the 5-speed box

60 mpg and quiet crusing, LIES ALL LIES i tell ya lol the 1.2 in 5speed guise is still noisy as hell and the best mpg i got was 47.5 lol
Alright Matie! Glad you've seen the path of the richious :D
Did you buy it then?
LOL Dave, nar, not yet. Pete and myself are going to look at it tonight. If it's not a bad old nail then I'll buy it. Then I can shelve the cabrio for the winter!

Sorry.
No on both counts mate ..I'm still fighting my cause!!!!!!
Gutted, hope you sort it!
Anyway, bought myself a ?70 Nova Diamond last night as my new runabout. Has dreadfull cosmetic rust so it'll need 2 new wings and a new rear arch. Plus 2 plates welded in the boot (Normal places) also off side suspension turret. Other than that, it's as sweet as a nut. Just need some bits a pieces for it now. So if anyone has any dirt cheap second hand 30 or 40mm lowering springs, then I'd be very gratefull! :D
