I used to have a Jreg Nova SRi, but someone wrote it off!

Any way, i have seen a Jreg Nova 1.4i Flair quite resonable priced.
Can anybody tell me, are the two MK2 Nova SRi and Flair engines the same as they are both 1.4s and injected. What would the speed differences be and what could i do to make the Flair the same.

Are the 0-60 and top end the same.

What else is different about the two engines, gearboxes etc, and exhaust systems. etc.

Or is there no difference in engines just exterior, with alloys, side skirts and suspension.

Cheers.
James.

Externally the cars do look very similar. However they have completely different engines. The Flair has a 1.4 SINGLE POINT INJECTION engine, the sri has a MULTI POINT INJECTION engine. Basically the sri is shit loads faster. The sri has about 80bhp standard, the flair has about 60bhp standard. These are just rough estimates but the 0-60 for the sri is about 10 seconds, for the flair its about 14 seconds. That should give you an idea of how much slower the flair is over the sri.

to make it faster. u shud firstly go down the induction kit + full exhaust system. then (if it hasnt already got one) try an SRI cam or some after market high lift cam and after this you would be looking at head work etc.

or you could always change your engine to a 1600i nova GTE/GSI or 1400i 16v corsa. look at the post about velos if you go down the 16v route
