Get CCTV so next time theres no doubt. Then issue the beating.

Whilst issuing a beating sounds like a good idea, a theif is rarely put off by this! And whats to stop him going to old bill and grassing you up?! All you can do is maybe notify the police of your suspisions (sp) and try and keep your car as secure as possible. Not a great situation to be in!

Good old fashioned linching......... flaming torches and pitch forks lol

Joking aside cctv is a good way to go, we have it at our unit and is a god send. Only last week it caught a couple of local tea leafs trying to get in, was enough to alert our live in night watchman who proceeded to charge them with a samuri sword.
Was quite funny to watch it back the next morning.

as said not a great situation to be in but i didnt even bother with the police this time they do nowt, when the nova went my mrs found out by hearing him bragging to his mates other people heard him and said they would be whitness to it too, after the police were told and had several whitnesses they still did nothing the lad had just done 2 years inside and was out on bail for stealing security cameras from the local council offices and stealing a phone of a young girl

You should tell the Police either way, though I do understand that they are pretty much powerless to do anything. However, if anything comes of it, it will be on record & may help to build a case against this chav.

Police merely act as an insurance verification service in the event of theft. Telling them you wont claim pretty much signals there exit from your case tbh.

It might be an idea to occasionally wander about your fr garden with a cup of tea whenever you are up that late, he might realise you are onto him & taget another car enthusiast.

It sounds like he deserves a long painfull death anyhow.

When my back window got put through on my old car the police were more interested in whether or not the car had tax.

They are useless.

the police were excellent when my garage got broke into, she was here within 45mins (and fit !!) phoned me every other day to tell me how she was getting on, did door-to-door enquirys (ive only seen them do that on the bill) even when SOCO didnt want to come out she put a complaint in on my behalf and made them come to me

i can see the point in the coments about phoning the police so it is on record but by coming out of jail on bail and just picking up where he left off tells me he couldnt give a crap, only way for people like that seems to be a life threatening situation (not that thats me) but im sure if i wait and make things more secure i will have the opertunity to even things out
