Yo everyone, got some alloys they are 7x15 and ET38 (is that the camber)

dont think they will, i have 6.5x15 ET40 and they JUST fit so probably not tbh :( you want something with offset above 40, i think 7 x 15 would be ok with something like ET49

ET38 is the offset. Sounds like they may fit a Nova. I cant say 100% though. I'm sure someone will post up soon enough.

Woah there, have a search about first. Some aftermarket alloys are 7in wide.

i dont think it is possible making them fit. getting thinner tyres maybe but then theres still the problem of offset which i dont think you can change

mine are 15x7 and ET 42 and they are fine (i do have a round arched saloon which has a little more space in the arches compared to the hatch but no loads) so don't rush try them first and use the search.

ET is also explained on the site!

search only works for a word of more than three letters!

If anyone does know the exact sizes that fit/ dont fit, it would be much appreciated, thanks!

Search only works for 5 or more :p

I would say they won't fit.

I ran et38 15" OZ Exclusives on my old hatch, and I believe they were 6.5" wide. They also stuck out like a hot dog stand at a jewish wedding and rubbed like Gary Glitter in a taiwanese ladyboy shop (thats with rolled arches, lowered 60F/50R and very solid suspension). Add another half an inch and you will have problems.

Na, they wont fit mate, they'll make a pig of the car and if you corner hard you'll scrub the arches (providing you dont have to cut them out anyway).

Simplicity is the Future. Get some Cav or Astra Wheels on instead, a good range and the proper fitting.

ET38 (is that the camber)

That is the OFFSET, the number of mm's the mounting face is from the centre line of the rim..

Cut and past from last time this was asked (about 2 weeks ago!)

The general rules ive seen and worked to.

15 inch
most 15" diameter alloys are 6" wide meaning 49mm offset is ideal. with 195 45 15 tyres you should get miminal rubbing with unmoddified rear arches and no rubbing with lightly trimmed/rolled rear arches.

195 50 15 tyres on the same wheels are likely to rub slightly unless rear arches are well trimmed.

16 inch
most 16" alloys come in 6.5 inch width or more.
The main exceptions being compomotives and speedline allesios, coming in 16"x6" and 49mm offset. Hence why these are so popular on novas. The above fitted with 195 40 16 tyres should require no or minimal arch mods. 195 45s will rub slightly more but will fit.
If fitting 6.5 inch wide rims you will need 45mm offset and very well trimmed/rolled arches. PLus expect rubbing under heavy load.

17 inch
As i metioned, these never come (in my experience) in less than 6.5/7" wide so as such will need arch mods and 45mm offset and as low profile tyres as are suitable. expect rubbing even with arch mods. also expect a harsh ride and naff handling.

In all cases any lower offset 49mm will generally require more and more arch mods. (unless the width is under 6", ie you could use 45mm offset with 5.5" wide rim and have no issues) but i only know of 14" (and some 15") wheels coming that narrow.

Maybe that ^ should be put in articles?

they will fit but to stop any scrapage it will be down to how you want it to look. i.e you would be needing some 155 or 165 tyres stretched euro style which is not to alot of ppl's taste.

a friend ran my old oz supertourismo wrc's on his nova, they were 6.5j and et36 (15's) rolled the lip of the arch and was fine. was lowered like easy 60mm+ and only had a slight bit of rubbing..
