20XE nova Heaters?

both pipes in the bay that are connected to the matrix are both connected to the black plastic pipe on the back of the block, is this why my heater don't work? should 1 be connected to the side of the head?:confused:

So where is the pipe on the side of the head going exactly?

IIRC the header tank should be connected to the black plastic pipe instead.
