Just been out for a good run in the nova and had it right off the clocks for the first time!!! I know the clocks arnt accurate but still, it felt pretty ****ing fast :eek:
I never managed this with the 1.3 motor in lol

Ill have to borrow a tom tom to see exactly how fast it does go, im curious now.


P.S I dont normally drive round like a tool, i just wanted to see what it would do after 2 years of building it :thumb:

The fastest I've been in mine is 100, then I got scared as it felt like it was about to fall apart lol

I tell thee, the brakes work very very well though. Almost ripped my face off lol

I wasnt racing anyone. It was on a quiet road very rarely used since a new road was built to replace it

I've not had mine past 90mph yet incase something wobble's loose or breaks lol. The trouble is, it's shocking how bloody fast it get's there.

When i had mine off the clocks at bruntingthorpe the needle stayed on the far stop for about 10 mins after i'd finished!

My fastest run with proper timing gear was 139 iirc. Averaged at 135 iirc (with your wheels on too!!) I hit the limiter in 5th.

Go by the engine revs, and then you can work the true speeed out :)

how do you work it out?

Go onto Stuarts website and input your gearbox/fd ratio/tyre size, and then the revs you were at, and it tells you what speed you were doing :)

Have to get your ratio of the end of the box. Its stamped in.
Most are something like cr, 3.55fd

if you have not got a sat nav, i think the new nokias come with gps under the extras, my friend uses it for when hes running, but they give you all statistics like av speed, max speed, pretty good for this sort of thing i imagine!

This i now know to be true, the fact of the matter being i didnt know that speedos COULD be innacurate, which is stemmed from me being mechanically naive and inexperienced,
