Could be a dumb question but I need it confirming as I've never checked. Can you fit mk2 headrests in place of mk1 headrests in mk1 Novas? Will they fit?

Cheers

yeah they should do, mk1 headrests are slim and I think there made of plastic, mk2 headrests are chunky and are made of fury kind of material, I would fit mk2 seats aswell coz it won't look too good with mk1 seats and mk2 headrests !!!!!! :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

nope my 1990 sr had plastic jobbies as does a friends. I think its only mk2's The headrests should look fine in mk1 seats as they are the same colour (as the sr's anyway) NovaNutter has done this, might be able to see pics in his feature.

they r straight swaps. mk2 'furry' 'rests are much better as well. if they r in sr seats where the colours match that is.

The main difference on the headrests (apart from ones being solid rubberised plasticv and the later ones being soft "donuts") are the legs.

The later mk2 headrests have secure catch wings on the legs (sticky out bits of metal) not found on the mk1 readrest legs.

If you want to fit mk2 (donut) headrests onto mk1 seats you need to grind off these wings - or change the plastic holders in the seats.

Trust me - its easier to grind off the wings! (get an orbital sander and some 120 grit - 5 mins tops!

The distance between the legs is the same across the Vauxhall range so almost anything will fit Vaux, lucky us :D
