Nick's WIP. K323 YEH

Well last weekend i purchased a 1.2i K reg nova off KevW, totally striped out with 1 bucket seat. the enigne is in running order, although it has been stood for a 'few' years lol origanal 55,000 miles with origanal owners booklet etc..

My plans are to just make it as clean as i can! and lightweight. i will most probably keep the 1.2 for the time being and do a few subtle mods..

Engine is now out of the car. not bad for a couple of days work on my own.
i will be putting the car back on its wheels then starting to prep the body and do lots of welding!

cool, you can have a lot of fun with a 1.2 on the road if everything else is sorted :cool: My old red one was a machine lol

Just for referrance the 1.2 carb engine is wayy better than the SPI one.

yeah definatly.. my plans are SR camshaft, gsi manifold and exhaust, eventually convert to twin 40's and an F13CR box with different FD :D

lol.. i also have a barn which i am using to store it under. its being moved there as soon as i fit the suspension back on and de-grease the engine bay.

its not had that much of a hard life.. when kev bought the car about 4 years ago 'ish', it was a minter! arches were great and so was the doors. but then it was stolen and thats how the damage to the back arch was done, then kev lost interest and it sat at the back of the grandparents house for years collecting rust, the engine is very very sound its just the body work which looks alot worse than it actually is lol i want to get another nova on the road instead of it being scrapped, wish me luck! lol

Little bit of a update..
since i removed the engine i have de-grease the engine bay with some GUNK, came out pretty well to be honest. then i moved up to my barn which is its new home..

little bit of an update, i removed the two side rear windows and front screen today, plus sanded down the passenger side rear quarter panel to see if i could get away with not fitting a new arch, all looks well..

Also i made a great find.. an origanal Irmscher MPI system with the origanl loom ect..

i had a test fit to my 1.2 but the inlet ports are a different shape to the block (block has sqaure inlets where as the irmscher system has cathedral shape ports) so i may be buying a 1.3 sr engine to save hassle of grinding and messing around with the shape of the ports!

ive got a Polished Rocker cover, and polished air filter with drilled air box and brand new K&N filter inside if your interested ??

no its a GSI one but it think its just the same as an OHC one just taller

i was going to wait and see if an irmscher rocker cover would pop up as it would go well with the inlet, other wise i will probably keep the origanal, thanks anyway mate

its not quite finished yet, i still need to do some more work to the front panel and fill and sand the bay abit more but all is looking fairly well and im hoping to get the bay primed soon (ish).

ALSO i now own a low milage 1.3 SR engine with gearbox and all ancilleries! happy days! :D

update time, ive been doing more body work, and trying to focus on the engine bay as it was one of the worst bits! so its all done and in primer now, also used hammerite to try and prevent rust.

ive decided not to be so keen on getting the nova to a 'mint' standard, and just to build it and use it on tracks and for a good belt on the weekend!

everything is basically packed up for the winter lol im too low on funds and would rather save and start back up when the weather gets better :D
