Well i've had this car since may now so i've decided to make a start on her 4 weeks ago, after a good look around it i was supprised how solid it was, 38,000 mile with full survice history, i had to have it £500.

I have started a thread on migweb but ive heard theres a liking of saloons on hear so hear goes...

If a C20LET is being fitted, why have you gone to the bother of primering the engine bay as this will need modifying to accept the engine?

Hatch wings is a bit of a no no on a saloon.

Nice to see another saloon project though, keep it up.

Make sure you use rear arches tho, as a guy (andy16vturbo on here and mig(or similar name)) had front ones grafted on to the rear of his mint turbo'd 'loon and they looked to small (IMO)

Looks to me like he's already moved the rad forward scott, check the mountings at the bottom

scott.parker
05-05-09, 10:15 PM
yeah but you could make some more mounting brackets to sit it forward more no? dose no one els think the cooler could be put the other way up?

Graeme
05-05-09, 10:18 PM
That is the normal way for running Frontera ic's isn't it? My rad comment was due to it being the smaller stilted rad not it being battered

94- camshaft position sensor (CMP) sensor - voltage high

tryed different distributor for 94, cleaned pins on both but still no luck, think ive got a bad earth somewhere but cant find one av missed

gunny
13-05-09, 08:30 PM
Yeah bad earths there mate, pull the wires out the plugs, clean them up and check all your original earths and clean them and the surfaces up too. Also id double check everything incase you have missed an earth, i know you probably have but can only keep looking!

good lad cheers, think he did mention turbo was leaking oil . . . that right ?

wiseboy
16-05-09, 11:17 PM
well after fitting the new tank we pushed it over the road to the petrol garage banged a tenner in, started the car up and white smoke everywhere, 20 mins later started it up again no white smoke, what ya think about that? little bit ov oil from between the intake and compressor housings. dont know anything about turbos tbh mate

gaznovalet
16-05-09, 11:29 PM
white smoke not a good sign as cud be headgasket if smoke is white and not blue, sumtimes engines do smoke a little if been stood but clear up quickly wen get all the 5hyt thruw. if turbo seals gone wud leak oil into downpipe and blow it out back but wud tend to be blue smoke not white.

wiseboy
16-05-09, 11:35 PM
was definatly white, i thought head straight away, supposed to have been done with the rebuild 2500 mile ago, was a bit ov oil in down pipe aswell

16-05-09, 11:37 PM
