View Full Version : Please look at my car and give comments
The wife says it looks tatty, I keep telling her it's standard SR exterior ie black allong the bottom half. She says it looks crap with black bumpers, black wheels and black allong the bottom:cry: . I do think in time (like when I can be ar5edlol ) I'll paint the wheels white. She wants it to be all white, and colour code the bumpers, but I think I like it all origional....... comments please:thumb:

Original is the way to go.
She's like my bird, she doesnt dig grey bumpers & just thinks a car is poorly specced if its got grey bumpers, though seeing as she is younger than me, I dont expect her to remember the days before colour coded bumpers.
It does look crap with the dark wheels though. Get them done in Silver or White as you say, pronto.
[edit] White pinstripes in the bumper & side mouldings would lift the whole colour scheme somewhat.

White SR in standard for looks good enough to me. Its got plenty of grey detailing like around the windows to split things up.
Not feeling the black wheels at all, not those ones anyway

Looks well mate, have you just bought it?? just seem to reconise the plate, was it a 1.6 16v???
Like the others have said it just needs the wheel colour changing to make it stand out!!
This is mine, much the same, standard looks with a set of wheels

It was owen'd by a lad who worked on same industrial estate as me in Sunderland, he worked for a local car repair centre and bought the car from Bristol Street, Sunderland as a trade in. He rebuilt the front end and painted it, also fitted the 1.6 16V then sold it for pennies (£200 ish)
Cheers for the info;) ah well, win some loose some!. I paid £600 for the car but have spent a good few quid since then!. I still think I've got a bargin tho as the car is solid.
It's still got Bristol street number plates on!.
I prefer it with black wheel tbh - nice set of anthracite.
Also - if you want to replace the vinyl I'm getting some made up specifically for the SR - replacement vinyl will be available v soon in matt black!

I'd go Silver wheels, get the blue strip back in the bumpers and rubbing strip again and new bonnet badge
Looks like MC's old Nova, which was spot on. What size are the wheels on yours Adam?
Blue pin striping on the bumpers/side trim as per standard, lower a little more and white slabs on it ftw:thumb:

it was on piston heads i tried to view to buy!! but the lad never answered his phone or replayed to emails keep the standard Sr look blue pin stripe with white or silver wheels
sorted
Repaint the bumpers Satin Black, fit a white Stripe and lower it again. :thumb:
iu wouldn't spray it looks ok as it is, its your car mate do as you wish
dont let the girl friend mess it up lol
Thanks for the replies:thumb: . I've just raised the suspension as it was far too low:( I had 14" corsa alloys and they used to catch:eek: . The wheels that are on now are 15" cesaros and will be getting done white soon, quite like the idea of the white pin stripe as well. I have a new wing and bonnet on now and a new grill to fit.

Have'nt read all the comments..
I'd lower it abit more, paint the wheels white and get some bumper gel on those bumpers. Other than that looks ok to me!
Dont go white, it'll cheapen the entire look of the car. I say Dark Grey wheels, not black but not silver either.
I would be gratefull if someone could photoshop the wheels for me as I have no idea how to do it:)
RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lets just get a few things straight here! I did say it looked tatty BUT the point I was trying to make was that if it is tidied up a bit then it could be a proper head turner.
As it is, it runs perfect (even tho Adam fitted the engine lol ) and goes like sh1t off a stick! But if he sorted the body work out and polished it up a bit it could be good enough to show next year!
As for the wheels I HATE black wheels with a passion  Never liked em! I dont really think it would look as good as it could if the wheels were white. I like silver, nice and clean!
And who mentioned divorce? Believe me if he spends any more bloody money on this car he WILL be divorced!!!!!!!!!!!!:p
Adam you've been told lol
And you still no nothing black wheels ftw :P

How long before the wheels are silver? ;) lol :)
I've just spent the last 3hrs trying to work out how to use photoshop and am still no further forward, my brain just hurts:tard:
I've read thru 2 tutorials and still can't work out what I'm doing:eek:
Silver wheels and white bumper stripes IMO and lower it
Do not paint the wheels white, they'll look Gay.
Miss D, why not have an affair while Ads working at his car? Or go shopping online on www.annesummers.co.uk (http://www.annesummers.co.uk) for something to make him spend less time on the car and more on you.
Sorry Dod, you'll have to do better than that lol
Don't need to have an affair, quite happy as I am thanx! (Don't think our 2 kid's would be pleased either!!)
And as for Ann Summers hehehe I don't think theres much left now that we don't already have, and what there is must be boring, or I would have it
Well its not doing what its ment to if he's screwing (at) the car!!
