SOLD

I know its a Cliche giving up a project before its finished but I am finding it harder and harder to find the time to work on my project :(
I'm looking to sell the car in one of three ways:
a) Shell (including rear sub frame + hubs + cage + wide arches etc.)
b) Rolling chassis (as above but with wheels, full set of coil overs)
c) Complete setup (as above with V6 brakes, engine, gearbox, shafts, ECU, loom and boxes and boxes of other parts).
I have taken 100's of hours and spent over two thousand pounds on this project and I'm feeling a bit stupid selling it but if i dont its just sit around gathering dust.
I'm looking for offers for the car in any of the ways listed above, As a rough idea I'm looking for 500 quid for the shell and parts listed in (a) but im open to offers!
The project is based on a 92 (K reg) Nova 1.2 LUXE, the rear floor pan has been completely cut out, railed and tubbed for a Corsa C sub-frame setup complete with ARB.
The front panel + cross member has been replaced and the rear end has been widened by over 100mm plus coil overs are fitted front & rear.
A 2001 Vectra SXI engine is mounted in the rear and the loom is ready to be spliced in (I have all of the data required).

Nooooooooooooooooo

If i had the cash/time i'd take it off you, and even if i did I'd end up having to give half of it up in a divorce settlement!

Shame you cant finish it and good luck with selling it if you do decide to.

I feel a dick for wanting to sell it but I was seriously messing with my work life by spending far to much time down my workshop.. I thought I could hack it but evidently I dont have the time :(

I would rather sell the car as a rolling shell or just the shell so I can use the engine for another project but if someone offers me the right price they can have everything.

What sort of mounts are there for the engine, would an older small/big block mount to it with relative simplicty?

DaveyLC

Ive got several different setups I've been playing with which are suitable for small blocks.. But Ideally it needs a late Corsa C engine side mount (the one that goes under the cambelt) to keep everything ballenced.

If I break it up I will, but I'd rather sell it to someone who will finish it.

amazing mate. what needs to be done to finish it?

To list the main things it needs a Corsa C/Astra G center engine mount, vectra cable gear linkage (I've got a MGF selector), fuel tank, bulk head screen and a paint job.. Oh and some form of mechanical hand brake.

Perhaps it would be best to sort out a few of the things that need doing, like the engine mount, to make it closer to being a running car. After all its your project so you know how to get it done best. I reckon it'll be a lot easier to sell complete if all it really needs is a paint job and other relatively basic tidying up.

If I had the time to finish it I would, and if I finished it I would keep it.. :)

Well it would still be good to finish anything you can to make it more sellable. Selling an incomplete project isn't easy, people normally would either want a finished car, or to start a project themselves from scratch.

If you really can't do anything else to it, I would type up a really good descriptive list of whats needed to buy and do to get it on the road.

You are kind of asking questions that answer them selves..

Like I said if I HAD the time I WOULD finish it and this post wouldnt exist.. Also if I knew exactly what bits I needed to buy and I was 100% sure that I could just buy them I would have finsihed it ages ago because I would have bought them and it would have taken no time at all..

It annoys me that I have done all the hard work and if it wasnt for all the problems I had at the begining of the year with storage and nearly losing the whole car (because of some idiot) no doubt would have finished it.

I would like the car to go to someone who has the space and time to finish it, I rent my workshop and if I havent got the time to go down there I'm just spunking money and I really dont want to be put in the position of having to scrap the shell and sell all the parts :(

DaveyLC

Went on ebay for £375 for the rolling shell, and he's paying extra for the coil overs etc.

I've lost a few hundred quid but hey it was fun lol :D

Hopefully he will finish it.
