Hope this is the right place.

Ive just brought some Gsi nova 3spokes from colin smith and im looking into changeing the tyres as the rears are low on tread and fronts are different sizes.

I was thinking of eather 165/65's which is what is on 3 of them at the min, or 185/60's which is what is on one of the fronts. Then as speaking to Vaughan i had an idea.

185/60's on the rears and 185/55's on the fronts?

By the way, I dont have the cash to be spending lots, so il get whatever i can afford.

So whats the better tyre size? and whats my options?

Thanks.

I'd have 4 x 185/55/14's

They were on my Corsa GSi alloys and they were ideal :D

Ye, but i was wondering if the two tyre sizes would be a good choice?

I'd personally run all the tyres the same...

185/55/14 ftw

Cheap as they're used on Fiestas. Try Falkens, good grip, good price.

Kumho KU31's might be available in that size.... and they are uber cheap in 16/17" sizes so 14" must be mega frugle :D

Camskill buddy. Bought some Khumo KH15 Solus tyres. Top service came super quick (1 working day after dispatch technically) and apparently they're pretty grippy tyres.

Bought 185/60/R14 for my Astra GTE rims, haven't fitted them yet though.

Only £28 a pop incl VAT and Delivery!

Give essex tyres a call. They are just outside Billericy (spelling) and do great prices on tyres when I go in.. Camskill wanted something like £68 per tyre and they wanted £70 inc fitting etc.
there is also Stortford Performance Tyres who are good too.

Mail order tyres are starting to turn into a non winner as so many fitting places charge £10 a pop to fit :(

Fitting isnt a problem, Brother works at merc at chelmsford so gets them done free for me. Il problery make my mind up tomorrow, but i think i may go for the kumho's seem to be the best for the price.

175/65 is the proper size on a GSi/GTE.

I would go with 185/55 though if you can get them at a good price.

As said they were fitted to Fiesta & Saxo's/106's so the size is coc k on.

I found my 185/60 Goodyear Excellence's to be, well, excellent, in the wet.

Maybe a strange qusstion, but how wide are your rims? The three-spoke rims were made in two sizes of widenes. The small ones were fitted on the sr's en the bigger ones on the gsi's however, they look the same on the outside.

If you have the small, 4,5J's, Then it would not be a good idea to fit the 185/55R14's

Mine are 5J But atm im leaving the steels on, as i need to buy some bits for my other nova.
