yeah man why i tried to make it perfectyou failed. get a new hobby
i woldnt have a clue what to do with all the photoshopping!
Neither does he lol
thanks mate. why you need to be a dick for
Because it's toss. Why bother?
Aside from the rest of the butchering, V grilles on Novas suck the wang.
Asa-James
30-09-08, 12:22 AM
well, maybe he likes them, and to each their own.

Looked better as it was before you touched it.
You killed it
NovaBoi92

thought it would be good to do, nova vxr. sounds good. obviously no-one liked it then :(
Asa-James
30-09-08, 12:28 AM
give it another go, personally i'd go more subtle with the styling, and don't let all these pedantic old sods get you down...
NovaGuy1400SRi

No, Don't give it another go, You will only wreck it again :(
NovaBoi92

I like the way you've brought the front bumper up so its right underneath the headlights, its a good look for a mk2.
hc coupe
30-09-08, 09:07 AM
Well done,I'm sure i couldn't change the colour of the original so well in.
Not sure it's to my taste but wicked effort !!
Tom
Urge, Why bother. Its ugly. Its another thing that should never been done to a nova.
Poo, PB images are blocked at work. I want to see it lol

30-09-08, 09:39 AM
To be fair, not only is the idea pretty crap, but so is the 'shop.
try harder...
I don't like the lines of the car but I don't think it's a bad effort.
Cant believe I'm gonna say it but....
Harsh Lads.

Cant believe I'm gonna say it but....
Harsh Lads.
Not really. Ignoring the car looking like an late 90s laxpower delta special, lets just list out the 'shoping errors.
Colour match of kit/car.
numberplate is wonky
bad trimming/antialiasing of trimmed areas
front windows not been excluded from colour/hue change.
Back bumper missed out on colour
tints to rear and side windows 'through' the car not shown.

Fair play mate, not an improvement imho but i can appreciate how long it took to do!

You definitely TRIED.. lol
give it another go, personally i'd go more subtle with the styling, and don't let all these pedantic old sods get you down...
Well said!
I appreciate anything that's done in photoshop, on account of the fact that I can't use it for sh*t, so well done! :thumb:
Fair attempt, I don't like modified (i.e. bodykits) Novas, but I think it's a reasonable go at showing what you had in mind. Definately better than I can do. If you lost the V-grill and spoiler, it wouldn't look too bad. I like the way the inside vertical of the headlight follows down into the line of the bumper mouth.
In reality, in real life it would look bad as fiberglass add-ons always do.
tbh i think its abit harsh, he was only board and wanted something to do then shared it with us! fair enough it dont look that good it never would of but get on for having a crack at it

Not a bad attempt IMO. I cant us PS so... Trouble is a kit on a Nova always looks out of place TBH. Maybe have another go, get the colours and lines right.
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 10:52 AM
well i tried the best i could obviously its not going to be perfect. it was just an idea - a meriva vxr front bumper, astra vxr wheels and vectra vxr grill, and a side skirt that i searche for i thought that might suit the car.
Pistol Pete
30-09-08, 10:55 AM
The V grill doesnt suit the Nova. Get rid of that try and match the colours and it might look better?
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 11:15 AM
but all vxr's have that v grill. oh well ill have a go. im doing it now ill post it when im done
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 12:12 PM
how about this one?
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn150/91-Nova-SR/NOVAVXRcopy.jpg
Pistol Pete
30-09-08, 12:14 PM
Without the v grill looks better. Loose the spolier and match the colours better, and its a near winner IMO.
looks better without the v grill, but something isnt right
RSTChris
30-09-08, 12:15 PM
Thats looking better mate
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 12:17 PM
someone else have a go at it, copy that picture and do it how you think it should be then. ive been trying for ages trying to get the colours to match abit better but its not working im getting fed up with it
I like the front bumper, probably doesnt "look right" cause its not a gsi...
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 12:21 PM
no its a meriva vxr bumper. i tried vectra, astra, zafira and corsa vxr bumpers but they didnt look right at all
yeah, just saying people dont like it cause its different, the old gits know what they like, and thats gsi's on mo's/speedlines...
loggyboy
30-09-08, 12:23 PM

That i like
that took you hours???
lmfao sums it up perfectly!
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 01:12 PM
i took the bumper off this car and had to match the colour from blue - to red, the exact same red as the car. you just changed the colour of the hole car then added the front bumper bits, not change the hole front bumper and that wat its a piece of piss to match the colour

Doesnt really matter how he got to the final result. It how it looks that matters. Fact is the colours match which is what makes the difference!:)

30-09-08, 01:40 PM
To be fair, i have been 'shopping since 91_nova was a glint in the milkmans eye, and as stated above, its all down to practice
as for 'just modified the original bumper on there. thats hard.' thats hardly true, the bumpers been slightly deepened, fogs and grill have been grafted on with careful colour tweeks and softening, and the wheels have been careful resized, rotated and made white. Yes its slighly less involved than what you attempted, but if you can do something simple and come up with a better result than doingit the hard waythen whose going wrong?? not me.!

are you blind?? the car is much more orange than all the bumpers and kit youve added.
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 01:45 PM
orange? looked red to me. cant blame me tho i am colour blind :(
loggyboy
30-09-08, 01:46 PM
LOL what a suprise... isnt that common with gays?
i prefer the bumper on sr's picture, it follows the lines of the grill better
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 02:26 PM
LOL what a suprise... isnt that common with gays?
isnt it obvious that being gay makes you go blind
i actually really like loggy's one. far simpler styling which is what has always worked with novas. as soon as you try to take it to far like 91 sr it ruins it.
keep it stupid simple
large_steve182
30-09-08, 02:37 PM
does it come with a stand alone 15 year girl and a max power induction kit.
but yeh get a new hobby. try fishing or something gay like that
Tbh the second one 91SR did doesnt look too bad, either lose the rear wing or make it smaller/further down the boot.
The second one loggy did omg thats sex someone build it:thumb:
loggyboy
30-09-08, 04:23 PM
I was feeling chavvy so i added 91's precious V grill:

lol that is shockingly bad

30-09-08, 05:22 PM
General Baxter, TBH the whole fitting lights from another car i have never understoood, but at least all the lines match up!! lol
you just modified the original bumper on there. thats hard.
Im pretty sure you would like to eventually be accepted on this forum and not continually get blasted, but you're not making it easy on yourself are you?
For the last time, chill out and stop getting your back up over everything. If you dont its just going to get worse.
Accept your going to have the pee taken out of you for a while, and people are going to say things (like they have on this thread) to you just to wind you up.
Its the forums way of testing if your going to fit in. It wasnt designed that way, it just is lol
General Baxter, TBH the whole fitting lights from another car i have never understoood, but at least all the lines match up!! lol
Thats not actually baxters, its ade`s continuing project the "puntova" iirc, look in projects and have a read through of it, tis very impressive all the craftmanship he has put into it:thumb:
Lee, it seems to be an unwritten rule doesnt it, i remember a thread of a similar nature to the 91SR one a few years back with someone saying that if a n00b could endure a testing period of abuse/nastiness/banter then they would fit in, kinda like the way all the recruits were made to stand on the front porch of the house for 3 days in "fight club",
If they didnt make it then meh lol
Novalad still gets abuse, and he's been here a couple years now lol
General Baxter
30-09-08, 06:39 PM
i like to get abused lol
Yeah but jack, thats just par for the course though aint it, tis what some members are here for lol
And baxter i dont quite think we need that info but cheers anyways haha
good attempy mate - dont take the sh1te these "experts" give you. Reminds me in part of my "puntova" project...
which I need to get my finger out and start again...

30-09-08, 08:11 PM
good attempt mate:thumb:
i think it looks good novasr most people dont like it coz its not got GSI bumpers and speedlines
I love that you've used my car... I dont mind at all.
Love the red chops logboy, guess thats how it would have looked if i left it red... Very cool.

30-09-08, 09:05 PM
Why are so many people on here being complete pricks ? someone has a little go at a photo shop and gets comments such as "its ****" etc... whats the point of this? has no one heard of "if you've got nothing nice to say dont say anything at all" ? everyone has the right to a comment but there's no need for certain things eh?
Cant believe I'm gonna say it but....
Harsh Lads.
Me to!, fair play, 100x better than any thing i could do no doubt!
Benns car does look alot better in the first pic though:)
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 09:11 PM
yes im sure it does, i just wondered what a nova vxr would like lol and benns picture was good to start on because was a high quality photo giving a clear view of the car at the right angle i needed
Count Vaux Alot
30-09-08, 09:35 PM
I hate it personally but fair play for the attempt if thats what you like doing!
yes im sure it does, i just wondered what a nova vxr would like lol and benns picture was good to start on because was a high quality photo giving a clear view of the car at the right angle i needed
Cheers dude, and its simple, would be a much better nova than we have, with all of the advances they have nower days, and a 1.6turbo making 200+
I want a mervia vxr.
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 10:52 PM
it would be good if vauxhall brought the nova back into production, but kept the same kind of styling. i mean they only have 2 hatch'es on the market now - corsa and astra, compared to. . say.. ford - fiesta, focus,KA (new ka coming out soon and new fiesta is out :))
Pistol Pete
30-09-08, 10:59 PM
Is the Meriva not a hatchback?!
They have numerous hatches.
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 11:02 PM
meriva is mpv
Pistol Pete
30-09-08, 11:04 PM
Well done but it is a hatchback, no? As is the Agila and the Zafira.
Well done but it is a hatchback, no? As is the Agila and the Zafira.
As is the S max and C max then in that case?
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 11:08 PM
oh right yeah, well then i suppose SMALL hatches like the corsa. or smallER because its not really that small. all new cars are getting bigger and bigger
There's so many stupid models out these days it's hard to know what is mpv and what is hatch, with all the crossover rubbish.
Pistol Pete
30-09-08, 11:13 PM
As is the S max and C max then in that case?
Yes, correct. I was just on about Vauxhalls though. :)
Vectra's Signum's, Antarea's etc if your being like that almost all vauxhall's are avalible hatchback but dosent make them the "hot hatch" like 91' meant.
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 11:15 PM
i really mean 'small hatch' all nowadays its all 'supermini's' like new fiestas when back in 1990 the nova was just a standard hatch, not a supermini. today, superminis are alot BIGGER than normal hatches were 18 years ago! i dont like modern cars.
Pistol Pete
30-09-08, 11:20 PM
I think that is the problem, hatches, or superminis, or mpvs, or whatever name they will be given next are forever changing!! Cars seem to be created from the same platfrom these days. And hot hatch wise, there is the Corsa, Astra and the Vectra.
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 11:21 PM
did you see that top gear where richard + james reviewd those mpv's as minicabs? and they couldnt really tell what the difference between mpv's and hatches were apart from a little more room insde and about 4 grand more expensive.
Vectra a hot hatch? Really?
NovaBoi92
30-09-08, 11:31 PM
vectra vxr? but still not really a hatch.
Pistol Pete
30-09-08, 11:34 PM
Is the vxr not a hatch then?
The original hot hatches were the likes of the MK1 Golf GTi, MK1 Fiesta XR2, Nova Sr etc.
A cavlier SRi 130 was never a hot hatch!
Pistol Pete
30-09-08, 11:37 PM
Ok, then. The Corsa and Astra are hot hatches, the Vectra a hot saloon...
Aye, 91SR isn't being clear that he meant a hot hatch which as said was originally the mk1 golf gti, 205 gti etc
The Vectra isn't a hot saloon, because most of them are hatches lol
Pistol Pete
30-09-08, 11:50 PM
lol, i always think of them as saloons from when my dad used to say "the saloon car racing is on the telly" lol:roll:
205 GTi, knew i missed one!
They do still make the Nova, and in VXR format too. Here it is:
http://www.smartlease.co.uk/corsa-vxr.jpg
Due to modern styling and (mainly) safety regulations, small hatchbacks or superminis have become quite large and cumbersome.
Meh, tbh hatchbacks do nothing for me. Give me a coupé/liftback or a saloon car anyday.
205 GTi, knew i missed one!
lol yeah, one of the best too!
The saloon car racing is a farce now, hatches and coupes galore :wtf:
It's amazing the amount of people that don't know the difference between a 2/3 door and 4/5 etc. Even when they own them lol
Pistol Pete
30-09-08, 11:55 PM
205 GTi, knew i missed one!
:D I had a 1.9 GTi, animal of a car!
When i was writing them down was thinking i know ive forgot something, most annoying thing there is a Mint one on the forecourt round the corner ive been glancing at everyday for the last 2 weeks!
When i was writing them down was thinking i know ive forgot something, most annoying thing there is a Mint one on the forecourt round the corner ive been glancing at everyday for the last 2 weeks!
Miami blue L reg 1900? I want lol
I'm helping a mate with a build on his ATM, 1900, T45's 1600 'box, shell all welded/plated where need be, 6pt cage etc. Should be fun :)
Bought one for £100 last year and sold it for £1k wish had kept it lol
If i had kept all the cars i wish i had kept JK would have nothing on me, well in numbers anyhow!
Obv one round corner is LHD, will try to remember my camera tommorow and get some snaps.
Yeah I dropped a clanger there, should have said 1993 registered to keep myself looking cool...(!) lol
Pics will be good :) I know what you mean about selling cars you wish you had kept mate! Best not get on that subject lol
Just thought, 99.9% likely to be a 1600, the waffle eaters get charged tax per hp so all have the wimpiest engines possible. There Saxo VTS's are 8v's.
Took a Vectra V6 to opel to be scanned and the whole workshop come to have a look under the bonnet, they have only ever seen 2!
They do still make the Nova, and in VXR format too
your actually right there jack..
in spanish and other countries, the cavalier, nova and astra were known as the vectra, corsa and kadett, however when newer models came out they seem to pick one name for both countries, the cavalier became the vectra, the nova became the corsa, and the kadett became the astra, so tecnically, the OPEL CORSA is still being manufactured to this day.. just its like a mk 6 or whatever now :D
your actually right there jack..
I know. Thats why I said it lol
By "Spanish and other", you mean Opel. lol GM dictated they should share models and names. Saves money on badges I suppose lol
The present Corsa is what, a D?

Not bad attemps 91SR and loggy boy could anyone do one in VXR Blue would be interesting
