biggest brakes to fit behind 14's

i have got 14'' softstars but am in need of bigger brakes as i have a 2.0 8v engine what would be the best bakes i could get as im not going to be changing my wheels just yet.

I got 256x20mm Cav/Astra TD/Corsa GSI brakes behind 3 spokes with a shave taken off them with the grinder:

I think the softstars are wider so they should take those no problem, or the 256x24mm 'valver' brakes.

I think 256x20mm is what will fit as the MK3 Cav SRi's (8v SEH) came with 14'' steelies from factory and they had the Ate setup. Which should be enough to stop a Nova seeing as it can stop a Cav.

And I have to say they are fantastic brakes on my dads Cav Sri. Really nice pedal soon as you tap the brakes stopping power is there.

i get the 256 are the disks. but whats the 20mm about is that the calliper or thickness of the disk ?

Its the thickness of the disc. Cav SRI, Astra GTE and mk3 GSI came with the 24mm 'valver' discs, also the pads are bigger on that setup.

Corsa B GSI's, Cav and Astra 1.7TD's came with the 20mm discs.
