Just bleed my coolant as it needed doing, now when I go to start the car it wont start, yet 20mins ago running purfectly.
I have checked starter motor but cant see anything wrong, All electric connections are on right terminals, the only thing I get is dash lights come on when you turn the key... even fuses seem ok.

can anyone help, spare a few mins on the interent

What happens when you turn the key?

Might be a dodgy connection/broken wire too, follow the wires from the starter and check everything is good.

When you turn the key you just get the dash lights come on.. engine completely silent.

everthing seems good, just checked all wires.

Tried to tighten the connections too? Sounds like either:

a) the starter is fooked
b) dodgy live/earth connection
c) starter is stuck [in which case follow loggy's advice]
d) knackered ignition switch

put it in 2nd gear with the handbrake of and rock it back and forward with the key turned just incase the starter is jammed also is the gearbox to chassis earth wire connected

the ignition swith is new, only 1year old
Starter is 9-10years old...

can theses just go or do they have a life span before they go.

such a head ache

They can just bugger off whenever they feel like it really bud, i had one before where i turned my engine off and it wouldnt start but would bump off, turned out to be the feed wire for the starter had burnt out and just needed replacing, try bumping the car off and it will narrow it don to either starter or wire!

thanks everyone... tried bumping it but nothing, tried 2nd gear and rocking it back and forward, nothing is stuck.

Maybe the starter is burnt out as when i cleaned the terminal i made a school boy error and i heard a pop noise and hadnt disconnected the battery. oops
