I woke up the other day, went out to my car and noticed that the drivers side was about an inch deep in water. The water is coming from the back of the pedals so where about coulf it be coming in? any suggestions on how to fix this problem.

Sounds like it could be around your battery tray area. Have a look and see if you can see any rot in there that may have turned into a hole.

Yeah like rob said, try the battery tray. i had exactly the same prob with my Freg 1.2, it cost about ?20 to weld up.

where the battery is u will c two black gromet things going into the bulkhead of the car, this could be where the water is leaking in from !!! take them out and put some silicone sealant round the edge of the hole then put them back in so it will seal !!!!!!

It will fail because it is within a certain distance of the suspension turret. Get it sorted and all will be fine. It might be worth looking at the bungs in the A pillar if you have wires going into the doors.

Matt, there is a drainage hole in the inner wing left of your battery tray, this lets all the water that sits there to drain out. Check this is not blocked or anything as the battery area will just retain water which may cause it to rot out again in the future.

if there is alot of water it wont be going past the gromit holes it WILL be a hole under the battery. If the battery is tightened down enough it moves about and rubs the paint+protection off so it rusts bad
sand it down, put some cure rust on, then sand again. get a fibreglass kit from B&Q/Halfords for like ?5 and fibreglass it, like the size of the battery or even bigger, i did this and it passed MOT easy, and they dont check under ur battery BTW, but if they can see alot of rot in this area by the side of the battery it WILL fail!!

ive got it sorted now, had a plate welded over it, it started life as a pin hole, when tapped, it fell through and finished as a hole about the size of 50p coin, anyway got it sorted and had no problems since, so hopefully thats the last of my problems with that. Next thing on my list to do is the brakes cause i ain't none.
