Top notch :D

Sprints through the pre amble of story, gets into full gore fast (how the fcuk it got a 15cert I dont know) and ended well :D

top notch remake of the classic crap (but awesome) Death Race 2000 starring a very very young Stallone

so is it as cheesey as Death Proof?

Wife saw a review and said it was very "gay"?

WTF?

wanna go but have the aversion of going to see a film at the pics on my own...if I took another car/mental film enthusiast (eg a man) poerhaps that's where the "gayness" comes in...

never seen death proof.... tbh Its as cheesy but ace as Transporter (NOT the 2nd one). Incidentally there is a 3rd Transporter coming out, that looks kinda good too.

Death Proof is complete and utter toss, I would strongly urge anyone NOT to buy/rent/even so much as watch it. Complete rubbish.

BTW, second hand Death Proof dvd for sale. Watched once.

proper cheezy, how cars could move with that much armor plating on them i dont know.
why everything is made of dirty steel.
a truck can go round corners just as fast as cars.

cant remmeber to much of the film story wise as i was drunk.
but rj has made his point clear lol

lol - I thought deathproof was pure genuis - utterly sh1te but somehow absolutely brilliant all in one go.
Only Tarrantino could pull that off.

I think I'll go to the pics on me own on Tuesday and partake of some death race - 2008 - although it'll be pushing it to live up the the original.

Thats the thing. People love it because its him. All his groupies tell everyone they should love it because its so random and cool and genius - no, its just sh!t. I still maintain he could make a "movie" of himself sitting on the throne for 90 minutes laying out a few big 'uns and people would still hail it as a triumph of cinema.

Death Proof could have been so brilliant, Kurt Russel being evil, awesome cars. But those annoying women and all that crap dialogue they spout, and the ending just spoilt it all.

I'm looking forward to seeing Death Race.

that would only work if the camera was pointing at his starfish...for 89 minutes and then cut to his face in the last 5 seconds of the film with a surprised look on his face - similar to this -

http://images.inmagine.com/img/designpics/dpic021/dp1767049.jpg

Then the title credits would come up as it's frozen and fades slowly to black.

Would need some cool choonz too - sum suitable toilet music...

thank god there is at least one other person who thinks Mr QT is a smidgeon overrated..... mind you, I would have loved his proposed remake of Casino Royale that he wanted to make in a sixties thunderball style.

I think he peaked at Kill Bill pt1. but then any director that could pull off 3 cool films is actually a good hit rate.

I have to say, I didnt like it. Fast and the Furious meets one of the cheesiest shoot em ups of all time. I'm sorry, but the plot line goes like this.

Guy is framed and jailed, man races cars and kills the baddies in Jail, man breaks out. YAY!!

I'm sorry, i just couldnt enjoy it.

My concern is that when they released fast and the furious kids copied the styling and ideas. So now we've got death race, will people copy the cars? Are we going to see a large amount of Saxos with machine guns etc

Just got back from the cinema, i thought it was pretty good. Just sit back and not have to think about the plot, just enjoy the stunts and gore.

thats what its all about. People who think films are there to enrich their lives or for the film to mean something are just sad fcuks really. Its all about entertainment and brian off fun :D **** reading into films, life really is too short to do that lol

Watch No Country for old Man and repeat your statement. A Fanstatic Film with a magnificant Plot and throughly enjoyable.

As Stuart said films are there to be fun, "Leon" hasnt got the cleverest plot, but that film is amazing.
