Decided to MOT my old 1983 1.0 Nova last week to possibly use to burn around during the week (work, gf etc)

It did Liverpool to South Wales on 13 quid end of last year.

What sort of MPG should a well serviced 1.0 get? Hoping it will save some on what my audi is doing.

problem is, you will be at full throttle 90% of the time lol

there not that good for long distances ie on the motorway unless you sit at 60 all the time. they are really good for town driving and got quite a lot of bottom end torque for all they are. on the motorway i was getting about 54 mile to the gallon and wasnt much less about the town. i think the 1.2s are better i was getting nearer 65-70 with my 1.2 but and that was keeping a steady 70 mph.

54 mpg in a 1.0?

Never got more than about 30-35 mpg on mine lol, well serviced too! About 300 miles to the tank!

I'd say anywhere between 30 and 40mpg.

hell my old std 1.2 would on occasion get 17mpg due to 3 mile drives on frosty mornings lol

My old 1.2 used to get about 35mpg, mixed driving, including a 60-odd miles round trip dual carriageway jaunt to work each day.

My XE gets 38-40mpg, and thats mostly on cold start 5 mile runs to work. lol

MPG of a 1.0l is shocking.

According to the dials on my 1.2i we got from my house to PVS this year on a full tank which would have been about 350/360 miles...

3 people in the car as well and a boot full of stuff

350 / 9 gallons = 38.8mpg

Not too bad then considering there on full-throttle most of the time lol

I loved mine, used to abuse it everywhere as you have to and never gave less than 40mpg. On a run you can get 50+ depending on what speed your going but a full tank would always get me at least 400 miles.

Must be something badly wrong with mine then lol

Driven carefully it should hit the 40's, driven like a nutter expect mpg in the teens.

My 1.4 happily managed 45mpg if I stayed off the second choke of the webber and under 60mph, but driven like a chav or on country lanes it was very easy to get down to just 15mpg!
