I'm wanting some coilovers as u can lower the car 100mm+ but they are rather expensive, spax are around ?499, avo are around ?450-?550 those are the ones I know the price of so they are rather expensive

i recommend bilsteins. ring or email Allan at Pro-Tec motorsport and say Brian from Ireland recommended them.

Coilovers are indeed better, but cost twice as much as spring and damper sets. Unless you intend to rally the car you'll not really notice the difference just driving around. Iv'e got Spax on "X" and it's very good and only ?250.

Also you might find you need narrower tyres.

Spring/damper height/rating is very much a matter of personal choice for road use.
Fully adjustable coileovers are likely to make your car respond better under braking and when cornering providing you are able to set them up effectively. Really you need some measuring kit to check camber and toe in etc as well. Are they worth the money purely for road use? I dont think so. Novas are light and handle well anyway

I personally rate the G-max lowered and uprated kit which provides very good handling at a budget price - nice and easy too. I had these on at a track day which was tight and technical and my car handled suprisingly well. It took some big hard core stuff to catch me...
