No.

Swap the whole front braking assembly including the calipers for something bigger. Astra GTE/GSI, Cav SRI type 256x24mm discs with matching pads and calipers are a good place to start.

can also use 284's as found on cav turbo's/v6's also on some early calibra turbo's and v6's.. use fiat coupe disks as there already 4 stud and fit :thumb:

Not a straight fit, need drilling out.

If you're getting mintex pads, get the extreme ones, not the cheap recycled condom ones. I've got them on some grooved discs and they work rather well.

this is the max size you can fit behind 15" but alltho not the best http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150296188066&ssPageName=STRK:MEBI:IT&ih=005

is it true?

It will do, its a mod. Whilst better brakes = safer stopping, the implication is you'll be driving faster. Plus there's the option that you're a complete turnip and could damage the braking system in the process, making it unsafe.

Better question, is what wheels?
If we know the wheels we can say the size of brakes..

NovaBoi92

15 inch

yeah but which wheels, as some calipers don't fit behind certain wheels

Benn

Yeah hence why i said what wheels...

Benns right, some four pot setups will go behind some 15" wheels but not others... I currently have a 288mm setup behind a set of 15" rl7's and they go straight on with no problems but my old wheels (16" speedline allesios) required the outer edge of the pad shaving slightly so they didnt catch even though they were an inch bigger! All depends on the wheels your going to use.

Tarox Tigra six pots will fit under 15" wheels. Probably as good as you will get.

lol I dont think hes got £1K to spend though ;)

Mintex eXtreme pads are crap... they are too variable (sometimes they are std recycled used condoms, and other times they are 1144/55/77 compounds lol).

Just buy M1144's for road / odd track use and 1155's for track use :D

Or go uber sexy and have PFB carbon metallic pads that eat discs faster than the pad wears :) will have done two sets of discs to one set of pads soon lol

Stuart

ummmm of course the brakes stop me lmao... I wouldnt have kept them if they fcuking didnt. Using "std" mintex discs from autovaux (308mm front 288mm rear (should be 288 front too))
