whats the little box on lower shelf(mk1) to the right near fuse box what is and what it do cheers

Indicator or headlamp relay iirc. I did just see it in Haynes, I'll go have another look.

Headlamp I think (indicator is next to fuse box)

cheers i thought it was that but headlamp and main beam still worked so i thought i was wrong

yeah mines disconnected, everything still works lol

if its a late mk1, I guess its the dim dip lighting relay. remove it & everything else will work, but it was a legal requirement for the headlight bulbs to light but dimmer as well as the sidelight bulbs........
