Saloon, less turbulence at rear end lol

Saloon lol trunk gives downforce??!! lol

thats what i just said to IAN lol

The front ends are identical and underside
So no difference.

If your bothered about aerodynamics, your messing with the wrong car lol lol

I agree with Adam, you're wrong Baxter you fool.

Theres a reason people dont use saloons as track cars
They FAIL :p

A saloon has a slightly different frontal area to a hatch as the roofline is different :p

thats because there all low milage minters lol

Im on about novas, fool :p

Id hardly compare an impreza or evo to a nova saloon lol

How is it

I think its a mm or two lower lol

PLUS saloon has lower centre of gravity due to the boot :D

Iain
27-09-08, 04:46 PM
Due to the extra weight?

Jack

Carbon fibre bootlid? :D

Could mount a functional wing/spoiler too for more downforce making it more effective on corners as well! Win!

the saloons are definetly better aerodynamically due to the boot. the reason the is hardly any track car versions is that they aint "cool" apparently. plus people are worried about the extra 10kgs weight. i hope to prove that they make very capable track cars as does bigs i beleave

5Kgs :p

Beefy has a track saloon as well. There's a WIP on here for it.

looking at the haynes again its only the base models that have 5kgs difference. the L models are the same weight. oh well by the time youve chopped out as much as i have it wont matter

i will have a saloon track car soon seen a few most of them are low mileage minters i agree saloons are the way forwards and better

yeah and who ever owns one, is in the elite team lol

I noticed a slight difference in handling when going from a 1.2 saloon to hatchback, seemed to me the saloon stuck to the road better.

I thought it was a well known fact that the Jetta GTi had a higher top speed than the Golf GTi, purely due to the aerodynamics. Hatches tend to have 'swirl back' as the air pass the end of the roof, creating almost a vacuum effect - slowing the air down... slowing the car down. FACT!

Nova loons are still uber ghey tho ;) (awaits banter)

Saloons weigh less because all they have in the back is your shopping and zimmer frame. Where as the hatchbacks have baz, daz and gaz in the back (with all their bling) on copwatch whilst you do some sikkk powaslydez in tesco car park, y0

...or a fuel pump and a battery :p

loons are better, and more aerodynamic, and cooler, fact...
