View Full Version : 1.4 2E Carb, 1.2 engine, 1.3 head/inlet?
Me and a mad (sorry) friend has this mad idea, of a 1.4 2E carb on my 1.2 SPI I understand that the ports on the spi head are the same as the 1.4 inlet. I know this means a far amount of work but its somthing i would like to do next year maybe. So my question is if i rejetted the 2E could this be made to work.

Im not sure you would have to rejet it necessarily.
I would try it first without doing so, see what happens.
Cant hurt to try.
I know there are plenty of people put 2e's on 1.2 carbs so you might be alright.
The reason i say about rejetting (Or possibly a 1.3 carb(still 2E) Is because it will overfuel surely?

Probably will, however there are plenty of people on here IIRC that have just slapped a 2e on a 1200 carb and it would seem it works.
Perhaps the same case is for the SPI

It'll run a little rich I reckon, but it'll run. Always a good idea to get the fueling checked whenever replacing parts like carbs, cams and heads though imo.
Yer, I'm just weighing up my options next year when I decide I'm fed up of standard 1.poo poo power. I wouldn't want to do this without setting it all up correctly.
