im looking into fitting my gsi engine im rebuilding in to my '91 1400 SR
would i be right in saying i need to fit a tank and pump from a gsi and running a return??
and how do i go about the wiring etc??
any guidance would be great :D

Yes with regards to the tank, you need an MPi item (Im not entirly sure, but i think you can use an SPi tank with MPi pump?)
Indeed use an Astra MPi Pump as its a straight swap.

is my 1400 sr spi?? havent looked too close to be honest and how would i tell?
A 1400 SR will be a carb engine.
You use an SPI tank when you're using the MPI in-tank pump. I think all GSis had external fuel pumps so you'd require a GSi tank to go with that (somebody clarify?)
Good work on the clarification.

lol
rite so all i need is a mpi tank, sorted
how do i go about the wireing? will it just plug up and work?
Theres about 5 wires IIRC that you just hard wire into the your SR's loom.
Ign live to ign barrel
Feul pump trigger wire
RPM gauge wire from coil pack to clocks
Oil temp or pressure (one or the other)
And some other random wire lol that i cant remember at 7.30am lol
