a friend of mine is coming to buy a cat froma corsa sport, in fairly good condition tbh, but i have absolutely no idea on the value of it, can anyone throw a few ideas my way please?

can get 50 pound a cat at the scrappys at the mo.

Only 50 quid for an OEM I got offered 3 quid a piece for some copy cats (LOL)

Catalytic converters usually fetch a decent price due to the precious metals in them, a couple of which have shonked up in price recently.

No car NEEDS a cat to be present to pass an MOT, but it may well need one to pass the emissions test (which is tougher for cars post- August 1992).

True that, platinum ftw amongst other things. Surely knock off cats can't be that much different to an OEM though?

£65 + if its good one, or about £15 if its cheapo aftermarket one
