well.. its a nova and its a wip lol

thought id pop this up in the projects so i can update it,
for my school gcse project im making a 10cm by 30cm model of a nova, its going to be made out of various 6mm sheets of mdf cut out on a laser cutter, wheels skirts etc added, then fingers crossed painted in silk violet :D

currently only started it today, been doing coursework for weeks, only 2 of the 27! 6mm mdf sheets have been cut along with some of the wheels.. let me know what you think.. and also any tips etc
im planning on it havign some sort of alloys, a full gsi body, most of the things liek windows witll be black stickers, mirrors etc will eb cut out of small mdf, but overall i think itll look awsome in silk violet

Stickers is cheating. Make them by hand if you need to.

Arches don't flare out that much, shouldn't be too hard to make. Although its going to look a bit odd if its square anyway lol

So how long before you have some on ebay Dave.

thats actaully pretty cool.

You should varnish it - make tringle mounting plates for the back, make some decals and sell them on ebay as little pictures - custom to individual cars.

OR - take 2 - bolt together with dowl and use as some kind of CD holder/book ends.

OR - varnish, decal up anmd use as coasters - make a mouse mat sized one too!

lol

PM sent by the way - cant believe you have a feckin laser cutter to cut MDF! Wheres the skill in that! So much for drawing, filing and cutting.

Dave, NO.... bad boy. cm is not a valid measurement :p mm or M are fine though :D

looks funky.
To do the arches and skirts I'd suggest cutting 2 more shapes but miss out anything above the window line and also take out the doors (bar a small bit left for the skirts). This will leave you with something to sand/shape to give the flaredness and skirt profile.

looks really good Dave. Stu's covered the points re the pm I sent you earlier in the month. How wide is it - look a little "thin" but it could just be the angle.

Once youve got the basic shape you then need to start sanding to get the curve in the bonnet and roof. Also - dont forget the sides - easiest way would be to add one more section each side but just cut the mdf about 5mm above where the aide of the car curves - then blend this in to the top with either filler (if allowed) or a shim of wood...
You then just need to to the sides and flares as per PM.
