They have a habit of snapping half-shafts too, fragile hunks of metal they are. Quite a few of the frontera boys have had to pull landies out too, You need one of those "attach your broken land rover here" stickers baxter!

Land Rovers are the best 4x4, simple as.
Fair enough they dont come with lockable front and rear diffs which is their only downfall!
Fair play, them jap things do work well but hardly a comparsion!

mine dint come with lockers, iv added them, but the defender, you go 50mph down the motorway and it shakes its self to bits,
the doors tattle, they move that far out can not even do the windows up, the roof flexies, they leak in a small rain shower, the list goes on and on lol
im thinking of buying one, so i can have a challange off the road lol

My vote is also for the landy, my father-in-laws 200 tdi series one is a beast off road.

it was the TOYOTA!!!!!! nothing else measured up.......
the Land rover is like the mini cooper (new), there is more style than substance, but with some work, they can work well......
my std double cab L200 (old model) has locking diffs, fat tyres, comfy seats, you don't need to open the door to see when reversing, & it does about 100mph without collapsing into a heap whilst deafening you

Vitara's are either for queers or hairdressers (or both!)
Whereas the SJ's are a small, cheap, genuine off roader with good ground clearance :thumb:

and a vitara on decent suspension & tyres is actually a very good off roader.. they are quite cheap, & sj's are getting scarcer
landys were never designed for motorways!! it like taking a fooking mondeo off road. it doesnt work
Ive done 110mph in a Defender....... its amazing how 2.5Tons can go LIGHT!!! lol
tranny powered defenders are great :D
