Engine bay

First of all i couldn't decide where this thread should go so its here.

How easy is it to remove the ??sound deadening?? from your fire wall?

Also, what sort of finish is behind it? Im thinking of removing it but want some advice before i make a mess!

it should be painted behind there.

IIRC its just cliped/glued on, and i think its painted behind, But im only going by what i remember from a nova in a scrappy a while ago.

Its not usually the same finish as the rest of the bay / car tho, its also glued on in places which can be a bit of a pain to get off.

As ive allready got the engine in, can it still be done?

Yeah its painted behind usually. It just unclips/pulls off, but its the first thing fitted to the bay, so the steering rack, matrix hoses,clutch cable etc etc are fitted through the sound deadening. Will need to cut around those bits to remove it

Yea its removable with the engine in, but its a pain in the @rse!

if your taling the bulk head to engine bay thats just clip on, if ur taking about the bulkhead to ventilation cavity where the battery is then its just some strips of adhesive that will pull off (much easier on a hot day, on a cold day they are brittle and just snap off in little pieces)
and yes, its painted underneath.

I think your spies need more training, its still sitting in the garage without the rear beam / fuel tank / pump / bumper ect on ... Haven't done anything with it for ages.
