Im now the owner of a de-locked and de-handled door. The souloution to unlock was remote central locking. But opening the door is my problem, I thought a Central locking servo but i guess it wont be strong enough.

What have other people used?

i found the standard nova solenoids dont have enough travel when i tried. but they do have enough to pull it open. maybe after market boot poppers or mk6 escort ones should do the trick.

Hammer?

I'd try a boot solenoid. Door lock mechanisms aill be too weak. Probably have to use abit of trail and error. Unless someone off here has done it? I've always decided against as if your battery dies your screwed!! In that case my first answer would come into play...lol

Its only for the passenger door so its not a huge problem if the batt dies.

Ahh right. Could you not leave it and just open it from the inside then?

That would be my only option if i cant sort somthing to open it from outside, it would be a pain in the back side IMO opening it from the inside all the time.

after all the passenger side of a nova is miles away from the drivers seat lol.

You can buy door pop kits on ebay for cheap as anything, then you just need a button, and some wire.

Wire it to a perm 12v threu a fuse and then to the switch, then when ever you press the button the door will pop open. Simple.

Yer, i was thinking a boot poper.

Benn - The wiring/button etc isnt a problem, spent most of my life learning electrical stuff from my brother.

Thanks guys, going to order the bits now.

Uh, Had a play with it today, and nothing. I need to try a bit more but it seems to not pull it enough to pop it. I thought i would try a central locking motor as i think it would be strong enough but il try it tomorrow.

Nah cl motors wont have the power, the door pop kits are alot stronger.
