i brought a set of avo coilovers last year.used but never fitted! But ive found that the back ones have got no compretion in them! are avo rear coilovers supposed to? PLEASE HELP avo want £75 a coilover to do them. if there not then i can fit them next month :thumb:

No compression?? So when you push the rod there is no resistance, yeah? I'd say they sound knackered. Rebuild is your only option i would have thought.

They dont return on there own. So long as they are hard to compres (damped) they are fine.

Or do you mean there so stiff you cant press them down by hand? :confused:

you can press them down with resitance and pull them back with resitance but they dont come back on there own? is that right?:thumb:

next question what springs do i run with a 1.6 16v and full sri interior. front and rear?:thumb:

For road use?
250 fronts
200 rear

The fronts are 2.25 ID iirc, and something like a 8" open length should be ok.

So long as you have 1.9 inch rears you dont need to mod the turrets, you may need to 'caress' the inner arch with a hammer due to good ole nova tolerances, but they should go on with minimal fuss.

I would, however, stich weld the existing seams all around the rear turret to add some strength.

I would start with 150lb rear springs tbh.

Avos dont go mega low. Around 60-65mm at the lowest tbh
