The Corsa you've put the link to recently changed hands for £3500, and was a bargain considering the spec. of it. I'm surprised to see it up for sale again so soon.
It would cost a fortune to build something to the same level.
much much cheaper to buy one that is already done

Agreed! If your planning on building something to a "decent spec" budget a good £5k max unless you spend years looking for bargains or your already "in" with "motorsport for a living" type people :thumb:
another rex :O
lol whats this about.....
Basically..
Buy one built = Cheaper
Build it yourself = Learn way more about your car and make it how you want iy from the start.

suppose it comes down to the size of your wallet and/or the spec you want, i would start from scratch its more fun and we all learn new things the more we mess around with our projects :thumb:

Buying pre-built also means you are essentially leaving full trust for the safety of the car & its integrity in the hands of who sold it to you. There are a lot of monkey-mechanics & children building cars these days.
Something like whats in your link is ideal. Its a big spec and it'll still need a lot of input from you which will help you learn more about the car.
I'd buy pre built (laregely) then strip it down and ensure all parts were fitted right, and that they are on a good chassis etc blah blah

That Corsa would have been a good base, but as Lee said
"Basically..

I would agree with that. Building one is fun aswell, and if it breaks down, gives you grief (all cars do!!) you may know what the problem is.

I dont think its always cheaper to buy pre-done. I'd like to think my novas worth more than ive spent on it. (obviously not including time, only money wise)
If you shop around and buy stuff cheap and cleverly.
And i prefer to make things myself - SO much more satisfaction. My next project is likely to be kit car from 'near' scratch.
