Personally Ad, I'd say more towards £2k really. It will be the same as him insuring an Astra GSi/GTE as his age. Bearing in mind, at my tender age of 22 coming 23, it about £300 a F/C on the same vehicle with points & claims.

well im paying £1600 at the moment which is a bit of a joke! wouldnt mind if it stays at that once i have my 2 years ncb and redtop in place.

just want an idea of what others are paying round the same age?

and with what insurance companies?

Tsk, fronting = naughty.

Do Admiral do engine conversions now? As they've been telling me each year for the past 3 or 4 years that they don't. Gits lol

I'd try specialist insurers like Flux/HIC and Sky first, go from there. You may find having a GSi as the base car may up it a bit as some insurance companies will base it on a modified group 11 car, instead of a modified group 3/4 (1.0/1.2), but anyone worth their salt should treat them all the same.

the thing with insurance is nearly everything is a variable, even the time of the month lol

Ring them up, I bet they could halve that if you haggled a bit. I think Flux originally quoted me something like £1500 on the saloon with an XE and a host of other mods, then came down to under £350 after I rang them and moaned lol

If you want to try and insure a xe @ 19, What you going to be trying to insure @ 25...?

IMO dont come up the line too fast, Your appreciate it more as your only get bored with the more power you get under.

insurance wise,i pay silly amounts, till i took out commercial insurance, half price, and i can insure a car as commercial
