now I'm going to polly carb the lot, apart from the front,

now i don't have the original heater matrix, and with winter on the way I'm after something that will defrost the rear and front windows

i know them ceramic heaters will work on the front, but will the rear jut melt into a big puddle of plastic? lol

They dont get hot enough to melt chocolate so wouldnt worry about your back window lol.

Not quite, having the only part of the window that is openable being no bigger than a CD case, it sucks in the hot as well IMO lol

I'd much rather be cold than hot, its much easier to warm up than it is to cool down.

For the Winter months, when the good weather comes back round (if..) break it and make your money back.

Will polycarb even condensate like glass? it surely wont get as cold, or take as long to heat up.

According to trackdaynova's WIP, yes the will.

i ran my white nova without heaters, and with polycarb throughout the summer months, and to the nurburgring and back... but never in the winter...

this was before i plumbed in my heaters, in my current nova, with glass front two windows, but poly carb rears...

yes, it was pain in the ass lol always run heaters, regardless of whether its a road car or not

Or invest in a good microfibre and learn to drive whilst wiping windows!!! Hence this build is getting the heated screen!;)

P.S.: Plug, me na not at all lol

fly - you know i would have a heated screen, but for how many chips mines as from others on the track, i'd sooner the 'replace the screen for a fiver' route, rather than the latter more expensive option...

and the fact i have heaters anyway lol

I love my Transits one with heaters, in winter when it's warmish but wet I just put screen on and have no need to have heaters going!

DON'T REMOVE THE HEATER!!!

Seriously, i know I'm a weight saving freak, but keeping the heater is the right move. I'm seriously tempted to take the weight disadvantage

Ive never had a heater in my XEs (could never be ****d to plumb then in) I just have blowers alone, so my plan is to condense down the blower/venting mechanism so its just there to get air movement on to the screen, it doesnt really need to be warm, its most important thats its dry air. The problem i have at the mo is my lack of bulkhead means its sucking in damp air from the engine compartment, so when i come to a hault in the rain, having the blowers on mists the windows even faster!
