Well, after a mate loosing it in the lanes in his corsa this is what happens when trying to mate his corsa with a volvo...

He reckons he hit 95 before loosing control (oops) racing (out of all the cars) a Saxo :( unfortunate really as he only got his properly flushed (welded) boot on the previous day.

oh well like i allways say teaches him a lesson for driving like a complete and utter tosser lol, im sure you'd agree. just glad he had no passengers in the car and he's perfectly fine bar a few bruises and grazes..

Jesus thats a proper bang, how on earth did he manage that it looks like he has pulled out in front of or handbraked into the volvo!

ck
20-09-08, 03:38 AM
wasnt good, he reckons he hit about 95 before the front end started skipping then lost it. going around a left hander with the volvo on coming. i guess he tried counteracting it but then went the other way and literaly the volvo drove straight into the side, most probably while they were both traveling at a bit of speed still

What kind of Volvo? If an old 940 or something then a new headlight and grille and he's away lol
Lucky no-one was hurt, hope your mate gets reamed lol

ck
20-09-08, 04:16 AM
lol, i'm not sure what volvo but u can see it in the 3rd pic on the right. bad but not too bad considering the state of the corsa :|

i think the strut brace's helped a bit :D

he might get reamed but on those types of road i believe it goes knock for knock regardless of insurance cover. dont think they can claim of each other.

Oh yeah, is it me or does that look like a nova (in white) in the background of pic 3

Bet that knocked the wind out of him, like you said lucky he didn't have a co pilot

It's either a Volvo S40 or V40. He's lucky to walk away from that, that looks nasty.

Feel sorry for the innocent party though, not nice.

He cant claim anything from the volvo driver but as he caused the crash by driving like a tosser you can see he has lost it and crossed into the volvos path whereas the volvo was obviously just driving along as normal hence the front damage and nothing else.

Ant yes that is a nova in tha background, possibly SR/SRi as its got a top tint screen and pillar vinyl and it looks like window surrounds too lol

Agree, feel sorry for the innocent party involved here. My bro was lucky to walk away from a nasty accident on thurs with just airbag burns, when a young girl decided to do a uturn in front of him on a dual carriageway at 60. his new 08 dsg golf gti is now decidely worse for wear!

Ooooo nasty one!! I assume its a write off, then? lol

You know, your friend might never learn. I have friends who have had pretty bad smashs and rolled the car, and it doesn't slow them down too much! Suppose its something you grow out of.

Yes but at 90mph :wtf:

Just ive had fun on the twistys but ive never gone anyway near that kind of speed, you still want to keep it at a speed where its safe and you could stop in time. You never know whats going on round the next corner

I can honestly say that was exactly what I built my SR for, hooning around the local lanes, within the laws of the land that is. I wasn't bothered if it would do 90 on them, it was more a case of trying not to drop to far below 60, which afaik, is perfectly legal. the only trouble I ever had was the fact that it only did 15mpg when doing so..lol

i'd say its the main factor of daytime. fair enough i used to give it sh1t in the lanes in my corsa/astra but this was at night time, so atleast i could tell if there was any cars on the road close by with plenty of time to drop to a sensible speed. during the daytime and lanes is just a bad idea..

i think everyone came away with nothin more than a few bruises/grazes which is the main thing.

From what i can remember because of the type of lane the sitution would auto maticaly go 50/50, not entirely sure but this is what has happened with a few accidents in the lanes here.

Yea but chris im not on about seeing cars oncoming, what if you went round a blind corner and someone was sat right there in the car or a deer, badger etc. Yea we all have done some speed in lanes but 90 mph is alot of speed. 60 mph is even plenty to have fun

to be sat parked on a road/country lane with no lights on in the night is just plain stupid and asking for trouble. animals on the other hand yeah can cause damage and a big accident but this is where it comes down to the fact that no other party would be involved. at least it would have been say my own fault with no one to blame. 90mph is alot of speed but i've defo gone faster through the moors lol oops

Yea but that long stright part of the moors you can get some good speed, and if your on about the astra well it only took seconds to get over 100 anyway, and seconds to get back down with the size of the brakes lol

Ouchies!, deffo lucky no one was sat in that passenger seat

As for not claiming of each other etc, there "shouldnt" even be an issue, obviously it was your mates fault so he should accept 100% liabillity, and if he doesnt then he`s even more of a tw*t then he`s letting on

Bananna Corsa!

Never noticed the s/v40 sitting next to your mates scrapper lol

He is the definition of twunt. especially if he doesn't take full liability!

Spudly
21-09-08, 11:46 AM
There shouldnt be any 50/50 bolloxs, your mate caused the crash and if he tries to squeeze out of admitting liability hes a total c0ck, i had my old 1.4SR written off a few years back and the lad who hit me was racing through the town center with a corsa and just plain didnt stop on a give way/filtered traffic lights.
He tried to deny liability by saying his light was on green and i had skipped the red light, this drew the claim out for months and left me unable to get another car/unable to work due to no transport and really pissed me off especially when he didnt get done for lying when the cctv footage came to light and clearly showed me with a green light!
He caused it so he needs to stand up and admit it, end of!
