i dont think you can stop it, its the stereo. alot of them do it when you go over a bump

theres usaully a pin you press with a ball point pen or similiar object either on the face or on the plate when you take the face off

Is your headunit in a cage? Sometimes if they are properly secured it helps.

Maybe get a new headunit?

you cant really stop it going over bumps maybe secure it a bit bette but if you remember the old portable cd players you carry around they has a jog thing on there so when you run or not it it would not skip

Im guessing your car is lowered on springs and standard dampers then as i used to have this problem with a few of my old novas, get some uprated/shortened dampers or if you have some are they old or worn out, new/better ones should either sort this problem or at least help with it!

hahaha

maybe the HU doesn't have ant skip mate, or is the rubber buffer piece missing from the back?

it needs to be securley fixed but also supported really mate, you can get a kind of rubber sheath to slide around the top i think? where it fits into the cage, make sure the cage is secure, tabs folded back etc, and maybe think about sorting the shocks!

my mate had a mk1 polo lowered 110 all around, basically rigid, any grid he hit his faceplate off the hu used to fire out hahaha

buy a better head unit I'd say, my kenwood has only skipped once in the 4 or 5 years I've had it, going down a step in the road (where the surface had been planed away by 2"s ready for a fresh layer of tarmac) at 60+mph.

you still havent said what make the head unit is, but suffice to say, if it cost less than £100 it just wont have decent damping for the cd, so is bound to jump and skip.
