i recently bought a merit thats had an e16se lump put in, the problem is i have a wire with a block connector coming out the left hand side of my radiator as you look down on the engine but it aint connected to anything and i cant see any loose wires that might connect to it, any help would be much appreciated

i think thats the thermostat pretty sure if you say its coming out the left of radiator? thats what it was on my mates gsi

you mean the fan switch ?

no the fan switch was on the back of the fan, on my mates gsi it was a wire that was plugged into the side of the rad, he said it was thermostat or something to do with temp

Fan switch goes into the side of the rad, thermostat is in the block behind the cam belt and the wire for the temp guage clips onto the sensor on the inlet manifold at the alternator side of the engine.

You can tell me im ar$e licking burgo again if you wish but he is correct!

basically then my fan switch isnt wired up to anything, where/what should this be connected to?
