thats a shame :( i run a nova 1300 autograss car and am looking at building a 2nd car for the missus so a gsi would be handy spares n wheels wise but if the pug is faster and handles better then hmmmn, cant really change much either as its a standard class

cheers :thumb:

or was that piss poor driver adaption?

I had a mullered 205 TD and it was a fabulous car to drive (even though the back end was near its bumpstops etc) compared to a std gte/gsi. yes when agitated the 205 would be lairy unlike the GTE/GSI but you had a choice to be a cretin or not :D

In standard form, a 5GTi WILL out handle & out pace a standard GSi. Fcuk, a standard XR2i will outpace a standard GSi!

Yer but technically the CVH engine is sh1te. My dads just bought an XE to replace the 1.6 CVH in his kit car.....quite annoying having my nova parked 3 feet away from an XE and theres no plans for it for me lol

are you sure the 205 weighs that much, maybe 100kg you can dent the panels by sneezing on it lol

the only reason a 205gti handles terribly is if the front lower bushes are knackered, causing the tracking to do strange things & the self centering on the steering to stop working.....why do you think they still work well in stock hatch???

ps. a 205gti will whip a std gsi in lots of ways, but I hate working on french stuff cos you need three elbows on each arm to get at anything.

I had a 205 and gsi 12 years ago. I would say there's very little between them. 205 better breaks weak engines and suspension. GSI bad breaks great engine [more torque] safe handling. 205 top speed 120 0 to 60 8.5 GSI top speed 119 0 to 60 8.5
