well hello there!!

i have a pioneer bt something or other, quite a high spec head unit, in my car im running a 10inch celestion sub running off a jbl amp, (twas very basic build, v.good quality sub didnt know the wattage so bowt a mid entry level amp, works well)

and im just running the 4 standard speakers, used in with a high pass filter sound bloody fantastic considering they are 16 year old cardboard cones lol

now if i hold the function button on my head unit i appear to be able to pic frequency ranges, i cant remember the exact ones of the top of my head but basically there are 3 differant ranges and you can pick a frequency within each of them

63,60,125,160hz
200,400,600,800hz
2,4,8,12Khzi think then for each of those there are varying degrees of range.. i think as i can chose 1N,2N or 1W,2W which im going to assume stand for wide and narrow ranges! 2W being the widest range, 1N staying fixed to what frequency you select within each band...

any ideas what the best settings would be?

thanks!

you will prob struggle to find the answer in here as the are prob only 1 or 2 people who are interested in i.c.e lol ,

although i would have thought that all the setting would vary dependine on what set up you have so , i doubt you would get a specific answer as to what they all should be lol

im just after a brief explanation of what each frequency range.. well means basically, in relation to a 10 inch sub etc

thanks for your help though matey

well if i was you forget looking for for a actual freq cause your not goin to get one m8 it differs from car to car your best bet is sound tests and by that i mean sitting in your car and checking what sounds best adjusting the bass treb and fade to suit once happy with the sound in your seat get out pop the boot open and listen from there and adjust if need this is the best way to set up your sounds i feel

im gona have to get one because it has to be set to one of the ranges??

the bass and treble are set up well, i vary them depending on rock/dance/d n b/ fades sorted, i have the offset 1 - to the drivers side, you should only have it 0 - 0 if you were to be sat bang in the middle of the car

who knows! thanks though mate

what car is it? i can't imagine changing the balance will make much difference, especially once the sound is up. you're just sitting a big bubble of sound... it's everywhere!!!

sall about sound dynamics and timing ;) but yes, unless you have mega acoustically trained ears your not noticing any change
