What do you think the weight of a nova tailgate with wrap around spoiler and glass and bonnet is?

Thinking of fitting fibreglass replacements and a poly carb rear. Also what overall weight saving do you think poly carbs all round would give>?

Im trying to work out the weight of the car at the moment you see. Its full stripped out apart from dash. Has a LET in and has standard body panels and glass at the moment. Two front seats are Sparco fighter II buckets made GRP. Ive been doin some power to weight calculations but not sure on correct weight. Is <900kg with me in (75KG) realistic?

Sounds about right on the weight TBH.

I reckon i can shave another 50kg off no bother then with poly carbs and fibreglass body panels. Id be happy with 850. That would equate to 282 hp/tonne. Thats only at 240 hp. So maybe EDS phase 1 (260) and that would see me 305 hp/tonne

You'd need more than polycarbonate windows and fibreglass bonnet/tailgate to get 50kg off. Look for a weigh bridge near you (scrapyards etc) and ask them if you can weigh it.

id say your being generous. mine weighs in (on 3 different bridges) at 770kg without me (XE, with normal panels, stripped down to dash only, standard seats) Does depend on the chassis tho, add a little more if its a GTE/GSI/SRi.
