Can anyone give me a spec on the Corsa 1.6 16v brakes ?

Are they ATE ones the same as fitted to a 2.0 16v ?

Any info is much appreciated

Cheers, Vaughan :thumb:

Yes but the discs are thinner than 2L

So the calipers are the same as the ATE / 2.0 16v ones ?

How do you mean the discs are thinner ?

No there not the same caliper.
The discs are 256x22

2L are 256 x 24(the width)

No problem Adam cheers :)

Should have the Calipers by the weekend, hopefully

I'll check the pads, probably replace them - Then I'll get some 256x22 discs

Would original discs be OK to run or what would be the best solution?

Original corsa 1.6 16v discs will be fine yeah.
Just get some good pads(gm ones are fine)

I have pattern part 284mm discs lol, and std gm pads.
They got annihilated round Castle Combe and Donnington(for a few hours), no fade at all. So gm pads are you to the job.

Also, are the discs vented as standard ?

Yep

Cheers mate, +1 rep for you :)

So I need to search for 256x22 vented Corsa Sport discs and go to the local Vauxhall garage for GM pads ?

i'd rather run the 2ltr set up due to the larger pad and disc surface area. very very cheap to get aswell.. they need the same size wheels as the 1600 16v brakes aswell.

astra 160 16v brakes are 2ltr ate ones btw...

And the discs arent interchangable. I tried this with 2.0 Discs and 1600 16v Calipars and they didnt fit, the disc sat out wheel ways too far and jammed.

Going to get the 1.6 16v calipers from the Corsa and get some OE discs and pads

They'l be better than the standard 1.2 items anyway

I think all Corsa calipers are the same? Its just the discs that vary, e.g. base models have solid discs, sport/gsi has vented?

On my Nova, I'm running baby ATE Corsa calipers, crappy pattern pads (couldn't resist £8/setlol ), and I'm still running Nova discs. Once the discs are done, I want to get vented GSi/sport discs.

Believe me I can get brake fade :thumb: lol

The Corsa GSI brakes have the same piston diameter (48mm) as the base model corsa's and most novas just with a larger bridge to accomodate the thicker discs, Astra 16v etc brakes are 52mm piston diameter, so will therefore give you greater retardation for the same pedal push :thumb:
