I have a 32/34 to fit, I assume its just a bolt on bolt off senario? Also, I know the ports are different etc but what about fitting an MPi Head or any suggestions?

Its an empty bay at the minute, and Donor engines and parts are laying all round the garage to borrowing stuff wont be an issue. (1.2 Carb, 1.6 SPI and a 1.4SPI)

If you've got the adapter plate, yeah, bolt off-bolt on job, on a 1.3 or 1.4 inlet.

I found that with a standard 1300 head and a 285 cam, that the carb ideally needed boring out a bit more to get enough airflow, so seeing as the 1400MPi head is the equivilent of a B+ 1300 one, I wouldn't use a 32/34 on an MPi head.

Mpi ports will not line up with 1.4SR inlet. Very different.

Best be would be to find a 1.3SR inlet manifold and use it with a 1.3 sr head and your new carb. The flow is much better and the compression will be up slightly. Failing that a 1.3SR manifold, and 1.2 head. Valves are not as big, but compression will be up.

Ok, I have the lot here in 1200 form. Are the 1200 and 1300 Inlets not the same? Surely the ports are?

The port shapes are the same, but the 1200 manifold is only designed for a single-choke carb, afaik, weber dont do an adapter to get the 32/34 to fit that one.

I see. I'll get something sorted.

Cheers Lads.

where can I get a adaptor plate from / how to make one? do I need a manual choke fitted to a 32/34 or are they auto too?

you can buy the plates for webcon for the price they are i'd buy one rather than mess about making one. I sold a few on eBay last year.
