hi ppl dose anybody tell me if a external fuel pump of a astra gte with regulator would be ok to run twin 40s on a nova gte engine or if not wat pump wud i need . thanks for help:wtf:
it will work but to use a high pressure pump you will need a regulator to drop the pressure. a regulator off of a metro turbo is exactly whats needed. otherwise a facet silver/red pump will be perfect.

anyone
IIRC you need about 3 psi. Unsure what a metro reg will do.
Filterking do a nice line in aftermarket/universal ones tho.

What engine is it going on? If it is one of the 8v engines, the simplest bet is to use a standard cam driven mechanical pump. They work fine and you can even get away without a pressure reg. They run at a high flow and low pressure (3 - 7psi) which is what you need. I used a very cheap pressure reg that went in line BEFORE the carbs to drop to about 3psi. The Astra pump and regulator will be setup to run at around 70psi with the regulator AFTER the injectors to hold pressure high at the injectors. Anyone ever measured the post regulator pressure?

hi mc its a gte engine but im runing twin 40 so cud i still use the mechanical pump?
you would need to swap the cam carrier for a carb engine item as they have the hole for the pump milled out and the GTE wont (shouldnt).
Before going out and buying a new cam carrier I would investigate to see whether the hole is there for the pump. You may be lucky. What is the car, GTE or originally carb'd model?
